    In a very full and lively city, the Villa Royal - although situated 10 minutes by foot from the Dome - is an island of tranquility, elegance and comfort. A perfect retreat after a busy day, the rooms have high ceilings, the beds are very comfortable, the bathroom has a good size and all appliances work perfectly. The internet works perfectly well, if one needs to work a little, after a day of leisure. :) Morning coffee in the garden makes the perfect start in the day, a tasty cocktail at night, at the bar, gives a great closure! The hotel team is super friendly and very professional, the room was super clean at all times, so all in all, a perfect place in a great city.

The property is conveniently located at roughly equal distances from Florence, Pisa, and Siena, though a car is indeed necessary. Set in a tranquil, verdant village, it boasts a stunning Tuscan view from the village center of Montaione. The apartment/room was spacious, and it seems the host kindly provided an upgrade to a larger apartment, which surpassed the expectations set by the photographs. Although our travel season precluded us from using the pool, it appeared inviting.

    In the woods so green and peaceful! Shuttle free private driver to take you to the train station then take a 3.50 euro ticket and ride 35min to arrive in the heart of Florence. To me that was perfect I got to stay a paradise but daily visited Florence. We used the laundry and washed all of our clothes and dryer. The best PIZZA I had in my Life was served in the restaurant. Daily we had breakfast fruits or omelette is served Many ice creams and sweets. Will ho back!

    I liked the fact the room was clean. We have asked for a cot, as we travelled with our child. The breakfast was delicious, with great variety of food. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly and very accomodating. We have travelled a lot and stayed in different hotels around Europe and i can say that the staff in Palazzo Castri was class.     Such an amazing spot, a superb little villa hidden in the Tuscan hills. We had a wonderful time, perfect base to explore Florence and the neighboring cities or just to relax by the pool.     Florence is beautiful! The weather was great! The food was delicious! We did a lot of amazing activities, like climbing to the top of the Duomo! And it was easy to get to the train station to take day trips to other cities. We were surprised at the crowds, since it was considered “ shoulder season”.

    Florence has impressive sites, but even though we arrived in September, the city was very crowded and in some places it was difficult to move comfortably. We waited almost an hour to enter the Duomo and perhaps we could have used the time better.

    Amazing property - exceeds expectations in every way. The staff, the scenery, the luxe and comfy room decor, the lovely upgrade, and all the wonderful wine and food on property and in nearby Montefioralle and Greve. SO worth the trip. I wish we were here in the warmer months to make use of that beautiful pool with the to-die-for view!!!

    The place I stayed was great, the owner was so sweet that she was willing to give me a ride to the train station by my departure. The breakfasts that she made was very delicious and at the time I needed (for Tuscany tour i needed to leave at 6:30am instead of regular breakfast at 7:30am) she prepared it for me. Only some minus I would give to a distance from the train station to the property. But from other hand it was a good exercise:)

    San Casciano is remote in the beautiful Tuscan Hills, although just 40 minutes slow drive to Florence The hotel is 7 minutes outside the town, so walking is difficult. Need a car to go anywhere. Taxis are not available. This hotel is pretty good, but the much-acclaimed restaurant is, at best, just above average and pricey. Claims to be "special" but isn't! Terrace dining is romantic but watch the wasps in the daytime and mosquitos in the evening. Swmming pool fairly small and crowded. Grounds are pristine and lots of lovely bougainvillea. Reception staff smile a lot. Huge carpark!

    Figline is an excellent small Italian town with classic piazza and narrow streets. It has excellent cafes and bars, with a range of cuisines and prices in the local restaurants. Everyone we met were friendly, and it was great to eat and drink in the piazza. Train station gives access to Florence, Arezzo and many other towns, and further afield to Pisa and Rome.

    Fiesole has many sites to explore with its fantastic amphitheatre, monastery and cathedral. It has some excellent restaurants and local shops. We loved the Snooty Fox with its delicious authentic Italian food, Terrazza with its roof terrace with amazing views over Florence, Pizzeria Buca delle Fate, Ristorante BISTROT AL 5. Anyone who likes hiking in between city visits, will find some beautiful nature walks.

    This place was incredible.

    This place was incredible. The property was beautiful and so well kept. The owner, Alex, could t have done more to make sure we were comfortable in our stay and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. He was really friendly, great with our kids and made us feel like we were at home. The rooms were so well decorated, the beds comfy and Alex had great recommendations for exploring the area nearby. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back in an instant.

    Very lovely city. Be sure to try the porchetta, it was very good for me. Also there are lots of jewelry stores, if you are into that. Don't skip a tour to another cities in Tuscany. We did a day trip to Pisa, San Giminiano and Sienna and it was a blast. The cathedral of Florence I would have just viewed from the outside, don't think the long queue was worth it. We loved more the Sienna cathedral.
