I stopped in Milan for two days on the way to a hiking trip in the Alps, and I'm glad I did. It is a comfortable city to visit with some spectacular attractions. Fascinating to me were the Duomo di Milano (the big cathedral constructed between 1386 and 2025), and the Castello Sforzesco, a magnificent medieval-Renaissance fortress located in the heart of Milan at Piazza Castello. Initially built in the 15th century by Duke Francesco Sforza atop a 14th-century fortification, it has evolved into one of Europe’s most iconic citadels. Today, the castle houses several museums and cultural institutions, including: Museum of Ancient Art Picture Gallery Museum of Musical Instruments Museum of the Pietà Rondanini, featuring Michelangelo’s final sculpture The famed Sala delle Asse, frescoed by Leonardo da VinciGuest review byurbanexusUnited States - 10.0

It's so easy to get around - be sure to visit the Ampitheatre/Arena and the fenicular, take a ride on the little tour bus and take a trip to Lake Garda - you can get to Sirmione easily by bus or train. Emanuel Cafe near the Arena was great - particularly the friendly staff. A lovely city with lots going on!Guest review byLisaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Torino is a great city for everything - sightseeing, food, cultural experiences, etc. As I have already submitted a review of Torino, in order not to repeat the same things, I will write about our visits to Genova and Novara. Genova is situated to the south of Torino - two hours by train. We went there to visit the Aquarium, and we weren't disappointed. However, apart from that, I wouldn't recommend it as it reminds me of Napoli - polluted, dirty, too many immigrants, not much to see. If I have to give it a rating 10/10 for Torino and 7/10 for Genova. I could add one mark for the famous Pesto Genovese, which you can purchase anywhere in the world. For a much better experience, I would recommend visiting Novara. Situated to the east of Torino - one hour by train (in the direction of Milano), you will find there the famous Basilica di San Gaudenzio, and more precisely, the Cupola (the dome). At 121 metres tall, it is one of the tallest domes in the world. More importantly, tourists can book a climb of the cupola (up to 100 metres), which is a once in a lifetime experience. Although not as big as Torino, Novar, for me, is much better city to visit than Genova.Guest review byPeter DTBulgaria - 8.0

It's a great location if you have a car. Staying on the T1 tram line was an easy and quick way of travelling into Venice with the service running frequently. Access to a local cafe, butcher and deli. Felt like we were part of the community.Guest review bySusanAustralia - 8.0

Trieste is a peaceful city with beautiful streets and decent people. I like the atmosphere, I like the squares, though the ice cream used to be much better — now they’ve spoiled it. All in all, it’s a lovely way to spend a weekend.Guest review byUrosSerbia - 8.0
The Citta Alta (the historic part) is lovely to wander...
The Citta Alta (the historic part) is lovely to wander around and take in the architecture; and visit a church or two, and a museum or gallery. There are spectacular views from the Venetian Ramparts (Venice held the city at one point), not least full-moon-rise. And there are two funicular rides to take. But it can get packed in summer; on my first visit, I was "lucky" in that stories about Covid 19 had just begun to circulate and the place was almost empty. Nobody knew what to do in those days; one football league shut down, the other carried on. The cathedral had closed its doors, except for access to the Capella San Rocco (St Roche had healed plague victims many centuries before). Bergamo was Europe's tragic epicentre. It's an irony that in the nearby town of Clusone you can view a mediaeval mural of the Danse Macabre.Guest review byMikeUnited Kingdom - 10.0

just behind the hotel is a strip where all the bars, shops , restaurants are located. they all appeared to be of a very high standard. great beer options. food is made to a very good standard. We went into John Martins , Mary's , Route 66 and theB. live music venue. drink and food prices reasonable. the beach is sunbeds cheek by jowl, but the hotel alocates sunbeds. very safe beach and warm meditteranian sea. use insect bite cream though due to the lagoon location.Guest review bymartinUnited Kingdom - 10.0

For your accommodation look for a location close to the Duomo; from here you can reach all the tourist attractions on foot. Get your ferry tickets online. Enjoy an Aperol spritz or a glass of wine on a terrace in the afternoon.Guest review byOctavianRomania - 10.0

Even though its a small town it is really nice, 2 days in enough (one day we spent in Padova and one day we went to Venice). We enjoyed the river walk and a lot of nice restaurants like the Pastasuta restaurant that right at the Padova market.Guest review byTina KCroatia
