I have been twice at The Lake Hotel and it's simply superb. Stunning location, amazing room and great staff make you feel like you're living in a fairytale. At the breakfast buffet there's a variety of food that can satisfy everyone. Food at the bistrò is delicious and I have really enjoyed the bar, where every night there's live music. I can't wait to go back there to have another amazing break. I really recommend this hotel.

We spent two days and one night in Killarney. We used the first day to drive a lot of the Ring of Kerry. We spent several hours of the next day at Muckross House & Gardens which we thoroughly enjoyed. It's definitely worth the visit.

Kenmare is on the Ring of Kerry, which is a must-do.

Kenmare is on the Ring of Kerry, which is a must-do. Possibly better to start from Killarney as there is a fair amount to see between Killarney & Kenmare, & (going clockwise) it's a bit much to do last after a long day. In fact if time allows I would strongly suggest doing the Ring over 2 or even 3 days. But our experience was that Killarney accommodation is more expensive & sells out faster. Kenmare itself is pretty and pleasant and walkable, probably not necessary to spend more than a day there though.

    Lots to do and see!

Lots to do and see! If thing I would suggest if it's raining or cloudy at all don't go to sea!! We went to the Skelligs. €295 for 5 of us, couldn't see much! Disappointing to say the least! The Skellig Museum on Valentia island across the bridge was surprisingly very good. It looks funny outside & we didn't rate it much! The back of it is what you see first! The take away on the pier was disappointing. Fish & chips wasn't what you'd think it would be beside the sea. The food in both local pubs fabulous. Best to book the Moorings for evening meals. It's very busy. Kerry cliffs well worth seeing also.

Cahersiveen is a very charming little town.

Cahersiveen is a very charming little town. We came down from Galway, and it is much smaller with fewer pubs and restaurants. The major appeal of this town is it's proximity to gorgeous attractions like Valentia and Skellig island, and being right along the Ring of Kerry. I highly recommend staying near Cahersiveen as your base point if you plan to explore the Ring of Kerry, and if you have a rental car and are comfortable driving on smaller back roads. Strongly recommend Franks Bar and Bistro for food and drinks. Be sure to check out the castle and fort that are very close to the town!

It's just 20 mins away from Kilarney National Park - which we visited last (just the Waterfall) Perfect if you plan on visiting Ring of Kerry and wish to take a lap around it - we have managed to see all the highlights (northern-side, i.e. Cahersiveen, Valentia, ending on the Cliffs of Kerry, then driving through the south absolutely gobsmacked with the views) If you want to visit Ring Of Kerry we recommend 2 days there as we wish we spent more and explore South side - definitely visit Valentia and Cahersiveen (coffee at Lazy Cat with view at the cathedral and shopping in the near gift shop) The views or Ring of Kerry are spectacular - Canary Islands, Canada, Zakopane, Peru (one word: Ireland), all mixed up! BIG LOVE!

    A great little village.

A great little village. Only 1 shop in the fuel station, but it was just about enough. Beach close by (Rossbeigh), although Kells beach was much nicer as it's more secluded and out of the wind. Unless you want the wind! Few nice short and long walks accessible from Glenbeigh.
