It was a nice little hotel we used for one night on our trip. What impressed us was the attitude of the receptionist on arrival. He had a professional, friendly approach, and he showed us everything personally - breakfast restaurant, room, air conditioning controls. Everything in the accommodation, having been refurbished by the hotel, is clean, fragrant, pleasant, meticulously cleaned and functional, with recommendations for guests, very comfortable beds, including pillows, and stylish accessories on the walls depicting local attractions - museums. The selection of breakfast food is appropriate to the size of the hotel, hence the number of guests, and the excellent small pastries. We left feeling that we had rested overnight and were well looked after by the friendly staff.

Everything is excellent in this hotel. Clean rooms and pool areas. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Various tasty food in the hotel restaurant. One of the main reasons why we came back to this hotel is because of the hot outdoor pool. It is apsolutly perfect.

    It is a lovely place. Huge, well maintained park around the castle, very peaceful and green surroundings. We got a free room upgrade so could relax on a 40 sqm terrace :) +16 C, sun and first flowers in the last days of February. The apartment was very comfortable, there was a lot of space in the bathroom. It is not emphasized anywhere on booking site, but there is kind of a daily wellness programme offered for free - stretching, breathe exercises in aroma sauna (wooden sauna house located in the garden!), aqua gym and even painting :) It was not yet allowed to swim in the outdoor pool but I can imagine how lovely that is in summer. The indoor pool is small but nice. During our Hungary trips we noticed the pools there are not designed for swimming but purely for relax, the water in them is therefore very, very warm. We liked both breakfasts and dinners, some typical Hungarian food was offered: pepper sausage, duck leg, goulash soup (luckily we are not vegetarian ;). We prolonged our stay to 3 nights and still did not manage to use all of the facilities as had also some car rides to the Balaton lake and villages around so I think this place can be recommended for at least 1 week vacation.

    The staff was super friendly. We rented bikes. There is a bike with a baby seat, one with a child carriage and another even a dog carriage. Amazing! We stayed for 3 nights with a 2-year old. Got everything we needed. A cot, baby bath, child seat for breakfast and dinner. We enjoyed the food. A lot of things to do in the area. We loved the fact that the hotel is so dog friendly. So many guests had dogs with them, we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel has a pool especially for dogs.

    Not so friendly stuff workers and people, without empaty.... Sadly.. Heviz termal lake very expensive for nothing, They close vital bar 15 minutes before closing. 3 young girls, 1 young boy is rude and arogant. Very dissapointed. They so us to came in bar 20 minutes to bar,no one come to ask for serve. When we personaly come to waiter and want to take like self service. He said :IT'S CLOSED!!! Very arogant-sorry for VItal Bar Boss to pay so young and arogant stuff.

    There is nothing to see, just Balaton lake. But, for us that was the reason to come since we wanted to avoid any outside activities. Just wanted to do be in the hotel and enjoy in SPA! Will come back for sure!

It’s the kind of place you just want to stay and soak in; there’s a charming, relaxed vibe with everyone in vacation mode, enjoying the moment without a rush. The resort-town atmosphere is delightful, and every corner feels inviting and peaceful.

    We visited in November so it was cold weather (luckily it was dry). There are some good restaurants and coffee/cake shops nearby the hotel and reasonably priced. We visited the cemetery to find the grave of a relative of ours who had recently died. The cemetery was FULL of flowers which had been placed on the graves on 1st November (All Saints Day)... I have never seen such a colourful cemetery. Interestingly there are military graves of Hungarians (First World War) and Germans and Russians (mostly March and April 1945)... they are all well kept. On Sunday mornings there is a large car boot type sale at the rear of the covered market... worth a look. The indoor market is only open on mornings. It is well attended by locals buying fruit, vegetables and meat but also enjoying a drink, a pastry or a cooked sausage with bread etc. It was too cold to walk about too much. I would not recommend arriving by train as the station is outside the centre and there are no taxis there. The coach station is busy, located right in the centre of town and there are usually two or three taxis at the nearby rank. We came and went via coach from Budapest. About £15 per person each way. It is a good reliable service. Zalakaros (a spa town about ten miles away) is worth a visit if you enjoy hot water leisure facilities... it is famous for it... the Americans drilled for oil but found water at almost boiling point... they reckon the town has earned more from hot water than it ever could have from oil!

    It was surprising how little is open on a Saturday afternoon, but a lot of the things are within walking distance from the centre which is nice. We didn't like the lack of bilinguality - there were no signs in English (as a 2nd language), we couldn't really find a place to drink/eat that would have English menus and we found very, very little people who spoke English.

    Diási Játékstrand beach is an excellent place for the family with equipment for various sports, a large children's playground and sand. In Gyenesdias you can find everything you need for your vacation. There is a train station in the village and a port nearby. There are cycle paths all around Lake Balaton, so you can plan a lot of trips there. Trip tip: by train to Tapolca and back by bike via Szigliget Castle.

    The hotel platinsee is outstanding so that is the primary reason we keep coming back! Vonyarcvashegy is a lovely suburb not far from keszthely. There are numerous restaurants and bars in walking distance Lake balaton is a very short walk from platinsee. And a leisure/lido on the lake is about 10-12 minutes walk. The lido has safe swimming and abundant sunbathing spots as well as snack bars and restaurants. It is also very inexpensive to spend the day there .

    The biggest atraction of Heviz is a thermal lake, and complete city is dedicated to that, Lake has covered part where the water is more hot and can be used during cold weather. City itself is very clean with lot of green areas, and pedestrian and bikee lanes. Of course, most of the buildings are Hotels from fancy ones up to modest places. Rent a bike, it is very nice to ride towards Balaton lake and castle, highly recommended. In my opinion, in case you are coming as a tourist it is a good point from which you can explore area and enjoy thermal waters. Advised for 3 - 4 nights stay, I have not seen the place with that number of thai massage places like Heviz :)
