Check in and parking were without problems and free of charge. The room was very comfortable with a beautiful view of the sea, the beds were comfortable. There was silence in the room. The pool with sunbeds was clean. I appreciate the variety of the breakfast. The restaurant was pleasant and we enjoyed going here for dinners. I would like to praise the very friendly head waiter Zoran. Such a professional is rarely seen anywhere. The other staff were always pleasant as well. Great little town as it was in early 2000s has expanded (markets, fast foods, bars and ATMs every 100m) since my yung party times here :).... so dont expect butique local stone little town but place prepared for mass of party yungsters. It is a huge overcrowded party place during high season, and nice little town off season. The owner was very kind and accommodating. The location was a peaceful and convenient place to stay. We ate at the public beach area which we walked to in under 10 minutes. Povljana is growing too fast.
Povljana is growing too fast. The rapid construction of unsightly apartment buildings threatens the original charm of this peaceful coastal village and slowly pushes it toward the fate of overcrowded resorts like Makarska. For now, the situation is still bearable – but it feels like a tipping point is approaching. Good: - beautiful beaches in the area - several markets, no need to travel anywhere during the stay - beautiful walking/running trail called 'Life on Mars'. Not good: - near Slana bay there was a concentration camp in the past which is not commemorated in a good way; one have to find the info by their own - I think most of the people are not aware in what kind of area they spend vacation.Guest review byPawełPoland - 10.0

The location is fabulous. The sea is clean and full with sea life. There are at least 3-4 restaurants in Mandre, two grocery shops and 2-3 bakeries. There is a cheese shop about 3 km away in Kolan, that has a lot of tasty local specialties.Guest review byAndrejSlovenia - 10.0

It’s a fairly remote village, but it’s full of life and really gorgeous. There is a little market where you can buy mostly vegetables, some olive oil stands, but the nearest shop is a 20 min drive away. This is a quiet place very good for families with kids. There are not that many restaurants around. There is a bakery and a small grocery shop. Most of the beaches are for the accommodated guests but there is also one large beach Planjka at the entrance to the village. Novalja peaks during summer for the festival season, with Zrce Beach nearby. However, it's a cute small town with its own little charm, I would definitely come at a less busy time (that being said, even during festival season it didn't feel crowded at all), and do some driving to nearby spots on the island. Driving is definitely preferred in Croatia in general (just be aware of limited parking and teeny two way streets), but you can arrive by bus to Novalja too.Guest review byMayaAustralia - 10.0

Our second Croatian island (the first was Lošinj) and another marvel! We were enthralled by the nature, we loved the diverse beaches, the restaurants and food were great, the locals extremely friendly, and for those wondering about Zrće - yes, it is just as lively and fun as everyone is saying.
