The suite that we had was one of the caves suites that has a pool outside and inside, but this suite has the best pool outside view that you would ever have in the whole Island, amazing place for pictures and specially the sunset. Now, the restaurant have delicious dishes and drinks, one of the best restaurants of the Island 100%. Now, we had a flight at night and our check out was early, but as they really wanted to make us feel great they gave us another suite until we leave the Island (also there was availability so we were lucky on this one). One last thing, we forgot our passports at the safe of the room, we called them and they came with our passports and personal belongings that we left at the safe right away to the Airport, as we said they were extremely helpful and great with us. Not only is she super friendly and helpful and knowledgeable she really goes out of her way to make your trip the most it can be. All the staff were lovely and polite and housekeeping went above and beyond to make us comfortable. The room was spacious and clean and the plunge pool was the perfect remedy for the heat. We will definitely be returning to this property as it is in a perfect location. Yes you don’t get the sunset view but to be honest that was a blessing. On arrival it is confusing - hotel is built on upper slopes of caldera, so it has different levels. On the plus side as soon as you leave the hotel you are on the famous Fira/Oia walk - turn right for Fira. You are on the highest part of the caldera so initially it is downhill, also you are close to Skaros rock which is worth visiting for the views and has a church partially hidden on the seaward side at a slightly lower elevation. Having stayed two weeks in Perissa, I dare say I know it a bit. It's a great mix of not too big of a town, plenty of groceries shopping spots, Restaurants with some great offers, nice beaches (even though one has to get used to black sand) and cultural spots like a very nice Orthodox Church and some historic ruins if you dare to hike a bit. Lovely village but getting very busy. Restaurants were excellent and staff in them very polite and attentive.
