The staff are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to ensure guests feel welcome & comfortable. The service is top-notch, with attention to detail and a genuine commitment to making your stay unforgettable.
The food is delicious & fresh fish is the order of the day. The breakfast menu is extensive & the salads at lunchtime were divine (try the cauliflower salad it’s to die for!).
The beach is perfect for swimming, snorkelling & just watching the world go by. The array of boats that moor up in Mandraki Bay means there is great people watching to be had!!
There is cute taverna next door for a local lunch or dinner if you don’t fancy hopping on the hotel water taxi into the port.
The complimentary water taxi runs all day to & from Hydra port which is such a stunning trip & never got old even after a week at this gorgeous hotel.
Shout out to the owner Arthur for being so present & knowledgeable about Hydra, always ready to offer advice on restaurants, walks etc when asked in a charming & understated way. Thank you for sharing your special piece of Greek heaven!

Sidra Hotel has a perfect combination of size, layout of various open spaces as well as a warmth and friendly design.
It is perfect located in the middle of the activ town- area and at the same time hidden and modest enough to enable a kind of hidden retreat character.
It is the place to be, for those who are really interested in soul and dynamic of the so friendly local inhabitants of Hydra. Compared to other typical "show-off" places it gives one a chance to explore this unique Island with fair prices.
But all said before would be nothing without the persons who run the place which becomes home during my stay. Kallia and Karim are not only professional, accurate, efficient, supporting, and great hosts. Both of them, each on his own way, have the rare ability to see each of their guests individually as a person and know exactly where and how to pick each of them up with empathie, patient and so helpfull support; all those spiced in a manner of humor, friendly attitude and natural handling.
A prefomance which seems almost casual but contains so much effort and love, is a high-end perfection of hospitality.
Kallia and Karim are the real Capital of this home to be at and make it to be far more than just a hotel.
I've been around now for a while and I have visited many places and countries. I can hardly compare whereever I have experienced hospitality of hosts and the beauty of the place melting to such a unique experience like I had this late spring in Hydra.

This hotel is beautiful- so authentic, full of lovely original pieces of furniture. Even the windows have either been restored or have been replaced either new ones that look like the original ones with the original clasps put back on. The hosts and staff are so helpful and friendly. It’s a very close and easy walk to the port. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back- thank you!

What a view!! Even in winter Hydra is beautiful, and our host told us about which restaurants and bar were open (in low season most of the shops and restaurants are closed, obviously).
The room was even better then pictures, as they have upgraded them. Gorgeous!
We had to walk some stairs, but it was worthy!

I loved it! Staying at Icons completed my Hydra experience. Nice hotel room, with iron, Nespresso machine… everything that can complete mornings and evenings at their terrace which is absolutely beautiful! 5 minutes from the port and the closest beach bar. Would recommend!

Breakfast was awesome. The courtyard is lovely. There were beautiful fragrant flowers blooming. The coffee/lattes were great and the staff was so nice. The food served for breakfast was delicious. We loved staying there and wished we could have stayed longer.

Everything about this hotel was perfect! From Check in to Breakfast, to our GORGEOUS room. Yiannis was an excellent host, and all the staff we encountered were lovely. There's even a cute Tortoise in the garden! Would stay here again without question. 10/10

Hydra is an exceptional island, some people return, someone disappointed, it is not for everyone, no elevators, lots of stairs everywhere, climbing, everything on a hill, rocky beaches and far from the center, you will walk many kilometers, do not expect a classic holiday destination with long sandy beaches.
Unfortunately, there are too many cats in the city, with excrement everywhere on the streets, a foul smell, and huge numbers of flies. It's a shame that the city doesn't take better care of itself.

Mandraki was a hidden gem of a place, only a 20-minute walk along the coast from Hydra Town, but away from all the hustle and bustle and with its own little beach and taverna - everything you could possibly need for a deeply relaxing holiday.

Hydra is beautiful. No cars no scooters. If unable to carry your luggage over all the cobblestones a donkey will. If bored and not swimming weather, watch the activity at the port. Many ships anchor out or smaller ones come in. Beautiful shops and lovely places to eat.

There are plenty of Restaurants close to the Harbour and there is plenty of variety or restaurants. A couple of Bakeries, Ice Cream shops and Cafes are also available.
There are a lot of clothing shops on the front and up the various alleys so there is plenty to look at. We took a Water Taxi down the East Coast and that was worthwhile. Another couple took a Water Taxi to a Beach on the other side of the Island and had a swim. That sounded like fun but there is very little sand here so get used to a stony beach.
We came here in October so it was winding down for the Winter. Less Crowds but overall less activity. Our room had a Balcony right on to the Harbour Front. I would expect that it might be a little noisy in Summer / High Tourist season. Our Hotel offered rooms at the back that may have been quieter?
Also this is a Historic Island. The Greek revolutions started here and the locals are very proud of that. There was also a huge fire in 1984 that killed 4 people and they lost a great deal of tree coverage. If you do go around the island there are pockets of Trees that were saved that will give you some idea of what the landscape used to look like.
If you love the Olympics like I do, Elena Votsi a local Jeweler designed the front of the Olympic Medals since 2004 and her store is on the Harbour Front. She has a display that is worth seeing.
My wife and I stayed 2 full days and had a lovely time. No cars or Motorbikes here so you will get your steps up. You will burn more Calories but there is some great food to tempt you to put more Calories in. Great Stay - Worth It.
