Apart from Ancient Athens including the Acropolis, the city does not have much going for it. Three days was too much for us, so we took a trip to Delphi one day to get out. Athens is very run down and there was very visible prostitution and drug use in the areas where the hotels are (Omonia). A lot of the streets are dirty and graffiti is rife (and it isn't even attempting to be good graffiti or art). The smaller towns and villages in Greece are fantastic by comparison and the bus service is great if you want to get around.Guest review byJamesT - 2.0

Convenient location close to the airport 20Euros pickup from the airport and 20E return. Our apartment was 8-10 minutes from food locations which really was only one restaurant open on a Monday night - I expected more choice. Though we were happy with the food we bought.Guest review byDebAustralia - 10.0
A home made with love
A home made with love We only stayed for one night, but we felt comfortable and fresh, like at home. The hostess carefully described how to enter the house and waited for us to confirm that everything was okay despite the late hour. The terrace offers an incredible view of the sea, there is a separate dining area and a sofa under the stars. The rooms are spacious and artistic. There is an unobtrusive elegant artistic accent everywhere - beautifully paintings on the walls or an element on the terrace, truly impressive art. The rooms are spacious and with a view, all have air conditioning. We thank the hosts for their hospitality - they had left water in the fridge, breakfast, coffee, which were valuable to us, given the late hour of our arrival and the early hour of our departure.Guest review byNikolayBulgaria - 8.0

The entry is a bit odd as it’s next to a pet shop but once upstairs you have a fantastic apartment that is close to Port and easy to get to with bags. I loved the views to the clock tower from balcony, views to the square and hills from living-room and hearing the town wake up each morning. Very neat and clean. Excellent experience and host extremely helpful and responsive.Guest review byRobertAustralia - 10.0
Absolutely beautiful view of the city center.
Absolutely beautiful view of the city center. Very exquisite atmosphere given by the incredible large number of luxury yachts moored. Very busy and holiday air everywhere around. Many shops, restaurants, clubs, minimarkets all providing the needed services and goods.Guest review byBogdanRomania - 10.0

You need to find time to discover the island and walk through all the little streets. I don't necessarily recommend a walking tour of the island, like we did, but with enough water and the right shoes, it can be a pleasant adventure.Guest review byIuliaRomania - 10.0

a lovely quiet little villiabge, hugging the coastline with spectacular sunsets and beaches. Plenty of options for food and refreshments, and some shops for holiday essentials. Easy drive to the end of the island (Only really one road) to beautiful beaches with beach bars and loungers and easy parking. Skala has a jetty catering for the various ferries plus visiting yachts. the beach is great for swimming - soft white sand, with no rocks or weeds, shelving very slowly.Guest review byjasonUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The beach is the longest sandy beach on Aegina which is predominately lovely sand there are some mixed stones and sand at the far but nothing to bad. The water is shallow and mainly calm wit a big sand bar a few meters out I would say very safe for children The sunbed range in quality and price ranging from 20 euros a set with parasol to 12 euros which obviously also is based on location and convenience to the beach bars and taverna's. Some beds are free if you spend money in the taverna's We loved the beach and clear warm warms that September bringsGuest review byMichael MawsonUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The water front is much the same as many port town island fronts. Vibrant and lively with restaurants, bars and cocktail/ice-cream parlours. The large marinas are full of small fishing boats, large fishing boats, flotilla holiday yachts, luxury yachts and flying dolphins. Aegina is the home to the best pistachio nuts in the world and they are on sale everywhere, that and local honey. One street back from the front is where the gift shops are and more restaurants. In theory the back streets are pedestrianised, but scooters wizz through them, so take care, particularly at intersections, they don't slow down. At the far end of the port there is a large orthodox churches that is so beautiful, don't miss it.Guest review byKarenUnited Kingdom
