- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.8Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 88 reviewsFirstly - about Pano Gitonia. The owner Theo has made a great effort to give his apartments a traditional Greek feel and he has more than succeeded. We stayed in the "Almond Tree" apartment and it was lovely. So many homely touches but also very functional. The kitchen had lots of appliances including a toaster and the shower worked really well with lots of hot water. Theo was available to assist with any questions we had and, understandably, recommended his family restaurant at the port. We found it a great place to eat with very reasonable prices and many tasty dishes. Secondly - the location. Pano Gitonia has a spectacular view of the port and the surrounding islands. There are plenty of chairs and tables to enable Theo's guests to enjoy the vista. Fantastic. Finally - we did not hire a car but most probably people visiting Pano Gitano will. Theo picked us up from the port on arrival and dropped us back when we left so that was great but the rest of the time we walked to and from the port. The walk is 45 minutes on the road and 25 minutes using the footpath and steps which are quite steep (but not dangerous).Guest review byAlastairUnited Kingdom
- From US$111.52 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very good - What previous guests thought, 346 reviewsI ve been travelling a bit in +80 countries from backpacking to business travels, from basic to fancy high end places. Lakki is among my favorite places I stayed, especially value for money wise. Family run, super friendly staff, great pool, best (pool bar) cocktails on the island, clean rooms, big spacious outdoor area creatively decorated, directly on the beach and short walk to the centre, and most tourists / travellers staying there were very friendly and relaxed, so loved the relaxed vibe there. So to me all ingredients I am looking for in an island stay.Guest review bypeterNetherlands
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.8Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 24 reviewsNikos and Alexia make you feel welcome like you’re part of the family. They keep their lovely place in top-notch condition (Nikos is a perfectionist). It really is a labor of love for them. While Nikos makes the best eggs, Alexia is the queen of the home-baked cakes. This is absolutely the place to be when visiting Amorgos. Not a chance anyone does better! And it’s located in what is one of the most beautiful villages I’ve seen in my life.Guest review byJohanBelgium
- From US$69.97 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 80 reviewsEverything as it was our second visit and we wanted it again Location outside of the port in a quiet almost semi rural feeling with the beach a 5 minute walk away. Exceptional Greek hospitality from Marios ,family and staff. The Taverna attached is a Zorba experience of wonderful Greek music supplied by Marios and friends on their music nights. The food for breakfast ,lunch or dinner only adds to it's unique attraction .Guest review byAndre NiemandtSouth Africa
- From US$49.93 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 675 reviewsWhat we liked: the location; it's close to all the restaurants, shops, hiking trails and beaches in Agiali. Agiali is definitely the prettiest place on the Island. Stavroula, the host, was just só friendly and helpful, as well as the woman who made sure everything was nice, clean and tidy (unfortunately I don't have her name). It's definitely value for money.Guest review byHansIreland

We really enjoyed our time in Aegiali.
We really enjoyed our time in Aegiali. We had a great place to stay in with amazing views of the water and sunsets. The beach is very close as are the hiking trails. So many great restaurants in Aegiali. We also really appreciated that it was peaceful and everyone was friendly. Many come here to hike the trails and we took advantage of this exploring the surrounding villages.Guest review byAnonymousUnited States - 10.0

Wonderful place with little tourists, amazing views on the sea, authentic food and atmosphere. Never felt so agreeably remote from modern life, without any compromise on comfort at the places we stayed. However be prepared for the bad roads and the poor direction indications - have your GPS ready.Guest review byDavidSwitzerland - 10.0
This was an adorable little town.
This was an adorable little town. There was a little shopping (like a few stores) and some great restaurants. The area is not too touristy. Our kids met up with the local kids every night to play soccer and that absolutely made the trip fantastic for all of us. What a special memory. 2-3 nights here is fine.Guest review byJenniferUnited States - 10.0
Great location to stay at.
Great location to stay at. Beach is big and sandy, great for families. Plenty of options for bars, cafes and restaurants. Great villages close by, our favorite was Lagkada. The main town is about half an hour away with lots of turns and twists.Guest review byDINAKIGreece - 10.0

if you think Santorini is a bit busy and crowded then head to this island for a bit of the feel of how Greece was 30 years ago With excellent restaurants and secluded beaches ( but you are going to need to hire a car or motorbike although the distances you travel a short , from Katapola to far north 30 min and to the far south 30 min and some of the most spectacular drives you will experience anywhereGuest review byPeterAustralia - 10.0
Beautiful little town on a stunning island.
Beautiful little town on a stunning island. Great beach and really good cafes and restaurants. I went for the hiking, there were 2 or 3 really good well marked trails but one I tried was really hard to follow.Guest review byPenelopeAustralia - 8.0
Katapola is very convenient because the port is there.
Katapola is very convenient because the port is there. It is recommended if you are going to rent a car, because there is easy access to Chora and the rest of the island. It is a quiet place and has a lot of Tavernas. "Mouragio" is recommended for fresh fish. The salad with Xinotiron is a must try in Amorgos. Xilokeratidi is a nice long walk from Katapola (maybe 15 minutes) , where one can enjoy the sunset. Enjoy your cocktails at "Fata Morgana" and an amazing pulled pork sandwich. "Yukali" on the other hand offers fresh mussels and seafood pasta topped with excellent service. If you like a long hike continue your walk from Xilokeratidi to Agia Paraskevi for the sunset. It is amazing.Guest review byYiannaV.Cyprus
