- From US$316.61 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 263 reviewsWhat an exceptional country hotel. Our king-sized room was absolutely gorgeous: a comfortable poster bed with a stunning view of the countryside; a massive soaking tub; and lovely extra touches such as a record player with a selection of LP records; and tea making facilities. The hotel bar, lounge and restaurant were outstanding, and our group of friends enjoyed our gourmet dinner and breakfast. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. We'd come back in a heartbeat!!Guest review byPamelaAustralia
- From US$195.50 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 906 reviewsRooms are incredibly clean and spacious with a fabulous power shower. Breakfast was lovely and well thought out by giving you a menu card to fill out the night before so they knew what to cook for you in advance. As we travelled in August I was so pleased to see a desk fan on top of the wardrobe to provide cooler air, which made for a very pleasant nights sleep. The location is perfect for exploring the Yorkshire DalesGuest review byAnnmarieUnited Kingdom
- From US$148.31 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 828 reviewsAn absolutely superb stay here on a week long tour of the area. Super comfortable beds and well equipped rooms. Staff were all friendly and efficient through bars and restaurant. A snug/lounge area is nice and ample seating outside on picnic tables to enjoy the evening early summer. A very good evening meal raises any rating for here as it nicely gives restaurant quality and certainly not bar food. Well done ... 👏Guest review byMHIreland

Pods are well equipped with almost everything you need for a short stay. Bed and couch are comfortable. Also a joy to sit in the hot tub and watch the sun go down and look at the wildlife. Good location for exploring and very quiet.Guest review byGarethUnited Kingdom

This is a lovely and picturesque town in the incomparably lovely Yorkshire dales. There is a lovely market square with nice shops and restaurants, a fabulous Georgean theatre, a terrific castle to explore, and a nearby ruined abby that is an easy walk from the centre of town. (Every town needs a ruined abbey, right?)Guest review byBeverleeCanada - 10.0

It is a lovely village in Yorkshire with a very cute gingerbread style station that has connections between Leeds and Lancaster for commuter trains. Lots of places to eat and have coffee. There was a lovely flower pot festival when we visited.Guest review byChristinaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Grassington is a lovely village in a great location within the dales. Lots of nice walks from there, especially along the river. It has plenty of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants to choose from. A fabulous place for breakfast, the old school room (8 mins in car).Guest review byPhilUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The village was quaint .
The village was quaint . The waterfall trail was amazing ,a must if you stay here or are just visiting for the day . The locals were so friendly and helpful . I wanted to do white scar caves but I read you had to bend down and squeeze through in places which I didn’t feel comfortable doing unfortunately. Countryside was stunning so many villages to discover in the area .Guest review byTonyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

It has most of what you would expect from a traditional Yorkshire Dales village and more, with a good mix of old and new. A very traditional inn, down to earth, with a good mix of locals and visitors, sits next to a recently refurbished one, apparently aiming for the higher spending tourists. A central area offers cobbled parking in front of inns and shops. There is still a village green, (with actual local children playing), a post office, a general store and a mix of other outlets for arts/crafts, gifts, ice-cream etc. Very easy access to both the gentler riverside aspects and the wilder moorlands of the area.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Lovely village surrounded by amazing limestone scenery.
Lovely village surrounded by amazing limestone scenery. Two nice pubs and a good cafe. Bus service. Good paths and signposts. Take a carrier bag on your walks to collect litter, as this is unfortunately a popular place for inconsiderate visitors!Guest review bySueUnited Kingdom - 8.0

On our first stay in 2019 we did a lot of walking and looking at incredible waterfalls. On our second stay in 2025 it was raining most of the time as a storm came through, but it didn't stop us getting out for two days of visiting Bolton Castle with an excellent tour, Grassington (where All Creatures Great and Small was staged) and a very interesting small historical museum, Wensleydale and of course, lunch and cheeses at Wensleydale Creamery Cafe!Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

The kitchen and living room are at the top of the cottage which give access to fantastic views. The bedrooms are small, but adequate. Beds are comfortable. The price is reasonable. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Parking is available.Guest review byHippogirlyUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Caw Cottage is simply wonderful.
Caw Cottage is simply wonderful. It has everything you will need for a relaxing stay in the Yorkshire Dales. Perfectly placed to explore this beautiful area and with Sedbergh just a few miles down the road with a number of good pubs/restaurants, everything is within easy reach. Caw Cottage is very well maintained and spotlessly clean. The bed is super comfortable too. The hosts are nearby, very friendly and helpful, but very respectful of your privacy. Caw Cottage is a gem of a place. Well worth the visit.Guest review byJulieUnited Kingdom
