A great hotel, nice and close to the ferry terminal. A lovely,friendly welcome. The hotel is immaculate and everythingis beautifully presented. The room was a great size with good ensuite facilities. We had a lovely freshly cooked breakfast and the waiting staff were happy and friendly.We would definitely recommend this hotel.

    Everything! Bill and Maggie are so friendly, a real home from home vibe. We didn't want to leave. Place itself is beautiful, stunning location and just fab on every level- so comfortable, clean, amazing breakfast, lots of great touches and thought into everything. Love the ishga products, coffee machine (and hot chocolate!), biscuits and thank you to Bill and Maggie for remembering it was for our mini honeymoon and kindly giving us some bubbles to celebrate. We'll recommend to anyone who'll listen and are already wondering when we can come back.

    In my long experience with renting rooms all over the world I have seldom found a place of this level of excellence. Centrally located, a spacious room with a town and sea view, clean, excellently equipped, extremely reserved and quiet. The host is a musician who is very fond of and well rooted in Hebrides’ culture. If you are interested, he generously shares his vaste and detailed knowledge of the island. Without him we wouldn’t have discovered so many interesting places.

    The place to be in Stornoway. A few minutes drive from the city center in a very scenic place overlooking the bay. Felt like home immediately. The rooms were big and very cosy with a lot of storage. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our breakfasts and dinners. We were pleasantly surprised to find fresh breakfast goodies in the fridge which was a nice touch. All in all an amazing place and a great team who were responsive and nice. Highly recommend.

    The owner is a wonderful host. On our tour around Scotland this was our favorite accommodation. This is due to the lovely owner, comfortable room, the dram of Scotch she had in our room when we arrived, the beauty of Stornoway and Margo’s wonderful breakfast. We didn’t want to leave.

    There’s not much to see and do in Stornoway but it is an...

    There’s not much to see and do in Stornoway but it is an excellent base for exploring Lewis and Harris. It was easy to reach the main tourist spots of Ness, Callanish, Carloway and Gearrannan Blackhouse Village. Also not far to experience the stunning scenery of Harris including the famous Luskentyre Beach. In Stornoway itself, the walk to the Iolaire Monument and the visit to the Lewis Castle Museum were both worth doing. The best place for lunch was Lantair.

    Lots to do- look into visiting the north & south area- all are within a comfortable drive. Get a map that shows the highlights- nature preserve, beaches, distilleries, standing stones, castle ruins, Uist Soap, restaurants like Politician, Charlie’s, Westford- all worth a trip. Stayed in Uist Travel Accommodation- clean, well stocked, ideal location- loved Peter & Archie (proprietors)- couldn’t ask for more! Went above & beyond to assist & accommodate! Will definitely plan a return trip!

    Whoever the owner is of this establishment is he should...

    Whoever the owner is of this establishment is he should realise that a manager cannot run the place on his own even in quiet times. The managers approach to his job was perfect and his commitment to the customer was faultless. A person like him could find a job anywhere in the hotel trade these days as their are opportunities by the thousand everywhere. Just shocked to see him serve, clean rooms, do the drinks, serve breakfast and do all the computer work and probably lots of things i could'nt see. Seemed like exploitation to me

    The house is wonderful as are the people who look after it - nothing is too much trouble if you have a query or need help with something The property is in a little place called Maraig rather than in Tarbert which is about 15 minuts drive away so trust the post code when it takes you off the Tarbert road!

    The Uist Islands were lovely.

    The Uist Islands were lovely. We were very fortunate to catch the North Uist Highland Games in mid-July. This is an area for gentle walks and birding. Dining options are good but limited. Definitely a place to unwind.

    For us it was the spectacular views, peace and quiet away from everybody. It’s so easy to get around the islands but you have to travel some miles to get to places to eat, which is not a problem in such a beautiful place.

    Stornoway is an interesting little town with Lews castle and grounds well worth a visit. It is a very good starting point to explore some of the island-places to visit include Callanish standing stones,the Black House,the Black House village and the broch,all of which are on the one road that leads directly out of Stornoway. There is also Harris to visit and famous and stunning beaches,but we ran out of time !

    I booked. Ferry became unavailable. I requested cancellation and refund 2 days in advance. Response was try another route. Not possible due to other commitments and bookings...email sent...BUT NO RESPONSE! UNHAPPY AND VERY DISSATISFIED.
