I stay here two weeks a month and love the feel of the town/village. Very friendly locals and "amazing food" at the Inverary Inn, Brambles, Ocho and Samphire fish restaurant. HIGHLY recommend a visitGuest review byRichardUnited Kingdom - 10.0

This was just an overnight stop on our way to Islay from Glasgow - we took an afternoon bus to Tarbert and got private transport to Kennakraig ferry terminal the morning after. The town was lovely, with a nice castle and a couple of good restaurants as well as a pub with plenty of whisky options. We might have even stayed a bit longer had we known it was such a lovely place.Guest review byManuel E.Poland - 6.0

Lochgilphead is a good hub for all the delights which are within 45 mins drive away, and Kilmory House is the perfect place after a day's exploring, with fab breakfasts to restore your energy. Tayvallach Inn a must stop for lunch/ dinner.Guest review byDavid - 10.0

Fantastic property, quiet, great Bar and conversations, fantastic reading Room and outdoor Patio , all with manicured gardens and brilliant views. some of the trees on the property were at least 400-500 years old. It was a joy to stay at this hotel. Located near the town and ferry docks for access to the islands for wee bit of whiskey tasting drives.Guest review byMahendraCanada - 2.0

It was awful in every way, from the weed strewn car park to the flies around the dining room windows to the walls/carpets marked and stained. The food was trully the worst ive ever tried in 40 years travelling. The staff were in the main young and highly inexperienced. The hotel is refusing to refund me for the night i didnt stay and booking.com are just as bad. This hotel wAs not as described-avoid at all costsGuest review bysarahUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The hotel is very comfortable with a beautiful garden and views of the Loch. There is a seating area in front of the hotel and a lovely bar with friendly staff. The food is Indian and very nice. There are beautiful walks and ancient trees and plants just 2 Minutes from the Hotel, you could spent days with exploring. A Castle near by organises classical music Concerts and Castle Tours. The gardens are magical and worth a visit.Guest review byGeorgUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Had a short break, for a birthday, squeezed into a busy couple of weeks, would have liked to stay a bit longer. Weather wasn't great, we would have done more beach stuff if it had been, however, the spa facilities were great and we are thinking of visiting for days out, or even an overnight stay, we live fairly nearby on Kintyre. We were able to drive out to explore the area more than previously when "just passing through" Cowal. However, one should bear in mind that all the single track roads make this quite tiring as you get older!Guest review byLindaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Main place I visited was Benmore Botanical Gardens - lots to explore and the rhododendrons and azaleas in May are spectacular. No cafe now sadly but a short trip away in Blairmore there is a cafe run by the lady who used to run the cafe at Benmore - didn't manage to visit it this time but was recommended to me. I stayed at the Creggans Inn and mainly ate there - excellent place to stay or visit for a meal - food was superb and a good base for exploring the area. Roads well maintained and easy to get round - visited Inverary Castle on the other side of the loch. Again superb gardens and the castle itself is stunning well worth visiting. The town itself also very picturesque. On the way to Inverary there is the Loch Fyne Restaurant and Tree shop garden centre and cafe - well worth a visit and picked up some beautiful rhododendrons at the tree shop. Nearby there is also a local farm brewery Fyne Ales - it has a shop and taproom where you can sample their ales and buy them or have a coffee and cake ! The weather was a bit patchy - usually it is fine in May but nonetheless a superb place to visit.Guest review byAndrewUnited Kingdom - 10.0
It was just lovely.
It was just lovely. The house was beautiful and well decorated and had lovely old architectural features. The bedroom was very nice and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was so good!! Lots of food and all delicious. Can’t say enough good things about Avril and Sue. Great ladies with a heart for hospitality. We especially appreciated our afternoon tea after arriving.Guest review byNancyUnited States - 10.0
Lovely little town. Loads of places to eat and drink.
Lovely little town. Loads of places to eat and drink. The jail is well worth a visit. The castle is worth a visit but it was very busy and therefore difficult to get the most out of it however it was a Sunday lunchtime so maybe not the best time to go.Guest review byCarmelUnited Kingdom
