- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 1,564 reviewsWe stayed for 3 nights - 4 adults and 3 young kids and we had a wonderfull vacation. The place is amazing. The house was big, clean and had everything you need for a long stay - big livingroom, long big table, full kithcen with dishwasher, 2 bathrooms and showers, washing maching and also a sauna and a balcony. The 3 bedrooms were big and comfortable. The place has free pool, gym and souna which is great, especially when you are with kids. Also great fields and grass for the kids to play. Wifi was good and ofcourse free parking. Location is also great near Avimor, easy base to travel around.Guest review byadiIsrael
- From US$156.80 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 2,403 reviews+Great, spacious room in high standard with comfortable bed. +Supportive and helpful staff. +The view wasn't the greatest, as the hotel on the other side was covering some part of lovely Cairngorms landscape, but overall, the location, the quality of the room was exceeding expectations. If I'll reach Aviemore once again, I will definitely book the place once again!Guest review byArkadiuszPoland
- From US$110.96 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 347 reviewsExcellent site. The pod was perfect with a fridge, kettle and microwave. Site was immaculate. The toilet block and shower rooms were very well kept. There are loads of activities on and off site for families or individuals do do. We were sorry that we were only staying one night. This site is so good that a longer stay is warranted to see and do everything.Guest review byCathyIreland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 354 reviewsThe chalet was lovely, comfortable and well-equipped and the outdoor hot tub and view of the lake were fantastic. We walked in the on-site woods and our granddaughter loved the huge playgrounds. It was too cold (for us) to swim but the lake and its facilities looked great.Guest review byYosephIsrael

I love this neck of the woods.
I love this neck of the woods. Plenty to do if you are an outdoors person or just want a break from busy places. It is a nice laid back location where there is a lot less hassle. Lots of nice food places - either restaurants or take-aways and plenty of shops where you could buy your own food if you don't want to go out. Highly recommended. If the weather is not so good there are plenty of lovely places you can drive to within 45 minutes.Guest review byMarkUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Beautiful little town in a stunning location.
Beautiful little town in a stunning location. The town is decorated with the most amazing hanging baskets. Several pubs, all seemed to be busy and offered good value food. The town is ideally located for exploring the beautiful areaGuest review byJuliaUnited Kingdom - 8.0
It was a stopover for us.
It was a stopover for us. If I had known more about the region we would have orranged an extra night. We did do a tour of the Dalwhinnie Distillery on our way south which was great. Make a booking - we were lucky as we hadn't made a one but there was two extra spots. Loved the Duke of Gordon hotel. So very old school and so beautiful. Great value for money.Guest review byPWRGBAustralia - 10.0

Everything in walking distance , chippy , charity shop, bakery, bus stop, could see hills from town center. Great bus ride from Aviemore ...so much nature . Hotel was very good and much cheaper than Aviemore . Was worth doing the bus ride . If you come by car the scenic tourist route goes from here to Aberdeen.Guest review byJason Ralph JonathanUnited Kingdom - 8.0

I was not visiting Newtonmore, but climbing. Newtonmore is a nice village with some good hotel restaurants and bars and is in a lovely setting in the hills. its probably a good centre for a touring holiday, and there are quite a few good places easily reached from here.Guest review byDave_ShanksUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Boat of Garten is a small village which has some good features and services, including a pub, a village store, pizza shop, art gallery and historic railway station. It is well located in relation to forest walks and other outdoor activities. For any significant shopping you needs to travel nearby Aviemore, 4.5 miles away. We preferred the peace and quiet of Boat of Garten for our stay in the area.Guest review byJohnAustralia - 2.0
Very disappointing stay.
Very disappointing stay. Staff were rude and unhelpful - especially at breakfast. Dining staff Bella’s behaviour was shockingly unprofessional and not acceptable. Dirty, smelly rooms, one with a broken bed. Complaints were brushed off with a simple “sorry.” We booked 4 rooms for family visiting from Canada and deeply regret choosing this hotel. Definitely not worth the 4-star rating.Guest review byNiaz - 10.0

International dark sky park and local ski centre. Didn’t have enough time to visit other local attractions like the castle ruins, Jacobite battle sites etc. could spend weeks up here if you’re outdoor people!Guest review bymichael - 8.0

Nestled amongst the mountains with paths and tracks leading all over what’s not to like? Sadly, the general facilities here have gone. No shop for example. One place did have a sign out for coffee, but there could be an opportunity here for someone. Worth climbing up the Cateran Trail heading south to get stunning views looking down on the village. Also visit the stone circle, old bridge and the church. Just soak up the atmosphere!Guest review byRichardUnited Kingdom - 8.0
