The view of the sea, early in the morning, sitting in the window was incredible. So relaxing, area was quiet, room was spacious, breakfast was lovely. Fresh flowers in the room were a nice touch. Plus the made the bed is made every day and gave fresh towels every day, in the spirit of sustainability, I haven’t seen that in a hotel in quite a while.

FAQs about hotels on Anglesey

A Haven of Wildlife

The small, yet geologically and ecologically important, island of Anglesey is off the north-western coast of Wales. Home to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge while he is on RAF duty, the island is known for its rugged coastline, most of which is classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Its largest town is Holyhead, set on smaller Holy Island and from where ferries to Ireland depart. Also on this island, Trearddur Bay has a Blue-Flag beach and one of the few Anglesey hotels with swimming pools. Another beautiful beach is found at Cemaes Bay on the main island’s northern coast.

Moelfre, further along the coast, is a sleepy fishing village, while Beaumaris in the east has a 13th-century castle partially surrounded by a moat and looking towards Snowdonia National Park on the Welsh mainland.

To the south-west the elegant Menai Bridge spans one of the narrowest stretches of the Menai Strait, separating Gwynedd from Anglesey. Another bridge makes the crossing in neighbouring Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch – the village with Europe’s longest name, though it’s usually abbreviated to Llanfairpwllgwyngyll which is still quite a mouthful.

Llangefni is in the centre of the island and in its district is Capel Coch, home to the only Anglesey spa hotel, available on Booking.com.

Holyhead itself isn't a great place.

Holyhead itself isn't a great place. Lots of empty and scruffy building in the town centre, although the harbour area out the other side is nice with the maritime museum. The only real highlight of the town centre are the remains of the Roman fort. The surrounding area including Treaddur Bay is much better for a visit. My evening trip to South Stack was really good, including a surprise historic settlement site across the road from the car park.

Menai Bridge is a lovely town, full of cafes, bars and a variety of places to eat and importantly, lots of independent local shops. The bridge, of course is the highlight, it is a really attractive feature - probably the most attractive bridge I have ever encountered. There are boat trips to Puffin Island which as you probably guessed hosts a colony of puffins between April and August, a wonderful sight!

Llangefni had everything we needed, including a wide selection of nearly all the main supermarkets! We also enjoyed an excellent Chinese takeaway from the one with the red signage. There is a one-way system to get your head around. It's well worth parking in the car park which gives access to The Dingle - a path by the stream and through fabulous trees which give way to fields and hills, ending up at Llan lake/reservoir. It's worth persevering on the path to see the lake. The other reason is to spot red squirrels although we weren't lucky.

We were given a room in the annexe which is usually kept for workers who are in Anglesey. It was a very poor room no storage for clothes small toilet /shower room cleanliness was not good the whole place needs a revamp both inside and out . This hotel is not worth the £450 we paid for 3 nights inc breakfast and your company should do more to check these places out prior to recommending them,we had no mirror in the bedroom no hot towel rail in toilet or indeed any place to put wet towels our stay was a complete disaster and we will not stay there again even the kettle had a dead fly in it

The shopping Centre by the famous station is nice.

The shopping Centre by the famous station is nice. We ate twice at the cafe there. Service was good, as was the food. We used a local fish and chip shop, and a local Chinese takeaway. It's easy to get around, and handy for A55 to explore further. Close access to the river for walks and for ground level views of the Straits! Anglesey. as a whole, is a lovely place. Ancient origins and magical in places, still.

We loved the " feel" of the beautifully decorated caravan. The space theme in the bedroom with two beds is so tasteful! Outside is a great sitting area and beach toy box. Games and books for youngsters are a lovely bonus! It is situated very near to Benllech shops etc and all is a short walk away.
