Every time my family and I visited nadi we had such a memorable experience. The town has a great mix of local charm and modern convenience. The people are genuinely friendly and always ready with a warm "Bula!" smile. The atmosphere is relaxed, and you can really feel the island spirit everywhere you go. Nadi market is always full of colour and life a great place to try tropical fruits and chat with locals. For Beach lovers if you crave the white sandy beaches then you need to book a day trip to one of the many nearby islands for that tropical paradise oasis. If you're not so fussed like I am, then look no further because Wailoaloa beach is just around the corner. The name Wailoaloa means dark water due to the colour of the sand which is black. Perfect place to just chill and catch the sunset. Speaking of white sandy beaches,, nadi has also has a great base for exploring other parts of Fiji. Especially the Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands, which are easily accessible by boat. The airport is close by, which makes travel convenient. Overall, Nadi is a wonderful mix of culture, hospitality and tropical beauty. Very beautiful island however it’s very dark on the roads at night, really needs street lights. And remark the speed humps on the road, for new comers it’s invincible. The pay parking at the centre Denarau shops. We had dinner for maybe 2hr and it only cost 4.50 and the next night we only stay for an hr or less and it cost 5.80 how does that work out like that. Lots of food options.
Lots of food options. Go to the market for local food and coconut water. Malls located all over the main Suva shopping and eating area close to the market and within walking distance from each other. Parking is a humbug and best you park on the multi storeyed parking lots for shopping malls. They can be expensive so plan what you want to do before making the journey to Suva. Recommend hiring a car so you can get around and explore when you want too. We visited many sites around Sigatoka and beyond. We ate at many different places and had lots of swims. I enjoy getting far away from the tourist crowds when I travel to the islands, especially to see the people of the land and their way of life. Lautoka is an awesome place to get an insight of the beautiful Fijian culture, its people and community, and the real Fiji. We loved the area as it was not too busy, Maui Bay had a supermarket, open area restaurants and the Indian/Thai restaurant on the main road was amazing. Overall, it was a great trip. Several onsite restaurants catered to all types of palette, friendly staff, good food and beautiful resort. Lagoon water was warm and great for a light swim/dip.
