SwitzerlandI consider myself a relatively picky person, so when I say that this was easily one of the best resort experiences I've had, I think that really says a lot. This was my first time at an all-inclusive resort, and the staff were incredibly polite, professional, and thoughtful. The room was very spacious, cleaned daily, and our room cleaner always left cute little designs on the beds which I thought added a thoughtful touch. Also the beds were suuuuper comfortable, especially the pillows which says a lot because I'm someone who never uses pillows because I can never find any that are comfy for me and the way that I sleep. I think they also offered like a pillow menu so they could bring you one that best worked for you.
There were a variety of food options (I think honestly the Beach Bar restaurant had the best lunch, we went there literally every single day. We also may have developed an addiction to the spicy margaritas lol). The resort itself is very well maintained and absolutely beautiful. There are a series of other resorts next to Alaya and I really felt like we made the best decision in picking this one. It's also easy walking to both the coral and the regular beach.
They had events every afternoon and evening so there was always a little something to do for everyone.
Overall a great experience and I definitely will be going back!

Staff was friendly and helpful at all times, and more than willing to stop and chat. Good selection of pools and immediate access to a nice beach area, with a diving centre and house reef that we took advantage of with a scuba diving session which was a highlight of our trip. Overall great value for money, especially when considering the meals and the fact that alcohol is included in the all-inclusive price.

The food was variable and delicious. Drinks and Snacks were excellent.
The landscape and the facilities offer the possibility for the children to have fun, and for the adults to enjoy their time and relax.
Our room was beachfront, which gives the possibility to enjoy a morning tea with a view of the Red sea. It was always clean, thanks to Sary, who also gave my children something to wonder about, everyday which shape would be formed of the towels.
The coral rief of the hotel is viable, a lot of fish and interesting aquatic creatures.

The diving facilities, staff, organization, equipment, access to Nitrox bottles and house reef easy access were excellent. A divers paradise! The brand new speed boats with impressive 300ps engines are awesome.
All inclusive food buffet was overall good. Chef Mohammed gave us extra amazing attention and provided on request fresh grilled fish, fruits etc. I celebrated my Birthday there and the kitchen organized a lovely (huge) cake, which was a lovely gesture.
The Chalets are good size and definitely worth the extra price to stay a bit warmer if you are here in January where evenings get cool. Bed was a bit too squeeky though. Hot water and good pressure in shower were very much appreciated!

The Oasis is the perfect dive resort. It is small and familiar, not an overcrowded party resort. There is really little else to do than diving. Staff are phenomenal, food is excellent and mostly Egyptian (being vegan I always found food to eat). The diving is great - staff are super knowledgeable and it's very safe and fun to dive. It's a safe spot for solo women travellers and the crowd is a bit different from the usual divers:) overwhelmingly German speaking tourists but everyone speaks English as well.
We were there for the second time, which we don't usually do, and I have and would recommend it again. Thanks to everyone!

One of the best hotels I've ever been! Location is Great, the Hotel is Clean not only rooms, Food is perfect and lot of variety, Marsa Alam has no night life, but at the Hotel You can't feel boring at night even if you try to! night show, Music, Singers, and Disco. The Staff is AMAZING! not one or two of them, All of them were Great! They so welcoming and work from their heart with an amazing spirit! This is the first time for me to feel like OH MY GOD I want to come back because of those beautiful guys, This place will be My place at Marsa Alam, and for sure I will go back with my friends!

This hotel is just amazing 💕Mohamed the housekeeper delight our life every day 🌹a big thank you also to the Restaurant and Kitchen Team, the food was better than many other place and the staff( Moustafa, Khaled, Youssef, Mohamed, and everybody else ) made me feel like home 🥰 My Son and me loved the Kids club, which we stayed a lot. Thank you Ibrahim. Also the swimming pool from the hotel is a lovely place. The beach was very clean and also safe for children. A big thank you also for Sayed from the beauty salon. I never had that professional job before. All Port Ghalib made me feel very comfortable ❤️

We enjoyed there the view ,it's really amazing also all rooms designed to have a sea view. We liked that everything was connected and near each other. We felt that time was so short to experience everything there. The food there is so tasty. Animation team are so nice and enjoyable. Aquapark is so enjoyable for old and young people. Few steps there, and you could dive or snorkeling to see wonderful colored fish and coral reefs. You don't need to go anywhere else ..

Everyone at the hotel was very polite and friendly. They went beyond the expected to make us feel welcome. Also, the room was big and comfortable. Furthermore, the hotel has a diving centre where we booked the tours to the dolphins’ house and Hamata islands, and we loved it. We highly recommend Gemma Resort.

The Alaya hotel guests has a private beach area at Coraya bay, my husband and I were given a lift there by a golf cart. Alaya staff greeted us at the beach area ,attending to our needs. providing beach chairs, umbrella and bar service . The swimming are is great, water is clean and warm. Snorkeling and scuba diving is available. I did snorkel and it was a great experience.

Port Ghalib is worth a visit, outside of the AI Hotels. Nice bars, good restaurants and friendly people. On Saturdays there is now a Cruiseship visiting Port Ghalib, hopefully the effects on the reef etc. will be not too negative.

I love Marsa Alam and Abu Dabab most, as far as the Red Sea...
I love Marsa Alam and Abu Dabab most, as far as the Red Sea goes. My favourite place of all time is the Concorde Moreen Hotel, with the Hilton coming a strong second.
We only ate at the hotels, because our time was limited.
I used the taxi service offered online by Booking.com, which I found to be very efficient and reasonable. But I am also a seasoned traveller in Egypt and do not find it difficult to negotiate with taxi drivers. (It can be very useful to ask Chat GPT first what an average trip should cost you, if you are unsure, and then use that as a guideline for your negotiations.)
It's an amazing experience to go out on a boat, but picking the right one can make the difference. I will be leaving my review on our experience separately (as it warrants a whole story on its own :))

No so much facilities ( food places, supermarkets,..) and pharmacies located around hotels.
Weather is hot, limited gas stations and road is not preferable to be taken at night.

The sea was beautiful.
The sea was beautiful. Unfortunately strong winds kept me from going into the sea. We stayed mostly in the lagoons. There was no access to sea from the beach, only from the pier. The life guards were good and attentive.

Beach area we were in wasn't the greatest,no swimming area ,too shallow and rocky not sandy.Took quad ride out in desert was fun.Lots of fish to see on reefs,water very clean.marss Mubarak has resident dugong and turtles but didn't see the dugong on our visit.Overall nice place ,a bit on the windy side but nice relief from heat.

There are already so many wonderful things to do like snorkeling, diving, massages and especially the many activities offered by Captain Mahmoud's extraordinary team and the high quality shows performed in the evening. Mainly, I noticed that someone bought a quad bike tour, and they were taken just a little way behind the hotel to ride on a pile of sand for a short while. There was trash and plastic all around, a complete wasteland—nothing pretty. I’m used to greenery, which I understand is lacking in this destination, but I definitely wouldn’t buy an overpriced camel or quad bike tour. Especially because, in that heat, it wouldn’t be an enjoyable experience for me, and with the trash around, definitely not. I did a diving trip, but it ended up being canceled. Unfortunately, they made us leave our things (like backpacks) in a place where locals were moving around, and we had no way to secure them. The original plan was that we would be on a boat. In the end, it didn’t happen, and that was probably for the best. I booked the trip through Booking. I had no particular expectations, even though we were supposed to see dolphins. Eventually, I arranged for diving, and I enjoyed it. Since I’m already a diver, it was easy, but when I saw how they even turn diving into a business, it bothered me. I saw parents forcing their 12-year-old daughter to try diving. She was crying, didn’t want to do it, but the father insisted because it was paid for. I watched her struggle and feel uncomfortable. It saddens me to see that everything can be bought with money, and that’s just wrong.

There is a public beach a little further away (a short walk across a small desert area) with exceptional underwater flora and fauna. Bring shoes for walking in the water. Please stay above or near the coral (personally, I didn't know there were risks to swimming too far from the reefs, namely sharks. But I didn't see any. On the other hand, there were some exceptional fish!
Port Ghalib is a tourist spot but much, much quieter than Hurghada. If someone tries to sell you something, just say ‘La, chokram’ with a smile and everything will be fine. Don't forget to tip a little, as Egyptians earn very little (around €400 per month for a family of four). For activities, I recommend Royal Sea Tours (royalsea-tours.com), who are really great.
