Our kids loved the swimming pool and we really enjoyed the sauna (especially the great 'aufguss' sessions!) . There's a lot to see and do for all ages. The park itself is nicely landscaped and the facilities are clean and decent. Friendly staff and a nice mountain view.Guest review byKimNetherlands

A little gem- the inner city and castle untouched by all the wars- it has changed a lot cosmetically since the reunification of Germany - but it's charm has remained. Quite walkable- the only challenging part being the sometimes steep stroll up to the castle. Don't ignore the side streets- there are some wonderful shops hidden away.Guest review byCanadian in HamburgGermany - 10.0

A lovely traditional German town Good restaurants, bars etc Good location to explore the Harz Mountains Try the local cable car - for breath-taking views from the top However, the location is now a testimony to global warming and devastation of the surrounding forests If you were a climate denier before - you will not be after a visit - unfortunately Although this should not distract you from visiting the Braunlage area!Guest review byAlanUnited Kingdom - 10.0

If you want nature for your holiday, then Ilsenburg is the right choice! Mountains, trees, fantastic view from top! For hiking it’s one of the best route! Unfortunately, there’s also part of nature that, most of the trees are affected by the fest or plague so you will see that a lot of trees are dying or dead and some mountain are bald! Anyhow, we did hiking down and up till Brocken! And up there , 1142 m high is breathtaking👍😊Guest review byRonica418Germany - 10.0

Schierke is a gateway to hiking in the Harz National Park and a stop along the Harz Narrow Gauge Steam Railway. It's quiet, friendly, and well equipped with a grocery store and a variety of restaurants and hotels. We suggest staying at the Pension Drei Elstern.Guest review byHulteen - 8.0

Town is full of history with medieval houses and a hilltop castle that is very popular for German tourists. English is not common, especially in restaurant or their menus, so sometimes difficult for non-German speakers. Great place to visit Harz Mountains hiking areas and the Titan-RT suspension bridge and Dam and the Wendefurth reservoir for boating. Harz Railway Steam train to the Broken Mountain.Guest review byCharlesDenmark - 10.0

Goslar is a place we have returned again and again. The town is beautifully preserved with many wonderful halftimbered houses. Goslar is an excellent place to stay while hiking or cycling or just sightseeing through the Harz mountains.Guest review byBernardCanada
