This was one of my best stay. I have informed that we will arrive late, did the online check-in and when we arrived the keys were ready for us. Room condition was also really good, pretty and peaceful environment, and the kids also had some fub climbing up the stairs. I would like to visit again if I have a chance.

Very clean hotel, nicely decorated and the feeling of luxury for a very affordable price. But the best of all was the staff. Everyone was very friendly and approachable. We very much enjoyed our stay, and so did our golden retriever. The location is also very nice with a park to walk the dog on the doorstep. Recommend!

    Wonderful, peaceful, friendly sanctuary. Beautiful location on the bank of the river. Rooms are lovely and very clean. The restoration of the building is of very high quality with great attention to detail. Wifi is super fast. There are beautiful walks around the area, all the way to the neighbouring town Kelheim. There is even a ferryman who takes you to the other side of the river for 2 euros! Resturant has excellent food and is well priced in my opinion. There is a brewery in the monastery and the Barock Dunkel beer is particularly delicious. When coming back from my walk, a monk stopped and helped us with directions, very friendly and so nice. I originally booked two nights but ended up staying for three.

    The staff were very friendly and helpful and the facilities and the room was very clean and nice. The sauna and pool areas were also very clean and there was plenty of choice of saunas. It was my girlfriend's birthday and the hotel had a nice table set up with decorations and we were really well looked after by the staff! A lovely stay.

    I had a lovely stay here. Everyone was kind and helpful. Do try the restaurant. It has a great menu of Bavarian favourites. The room was spacious and it was super easy to get to the museums and fossil sites from the hotel. Can definitely recommend.

    The old town of Kelheim is a small town that's interesting for a long weekend if you like Germany and hiking. The hiking paths on the north side of the Danube are well-marked. The paths on the south side are not.

    We loved Beilngries.

    We loved Beilngries. They have a lovely pizza place in the town that actually does gluten free pizzas and pasta dishes. Service was exceptional. Die Gams restaurant cooked lovely home cooked food. It was snowing while we were there, which made Beilngries even prettier. It is easy to get around, walked mainly.

    Wonderful dorf in the Altmuhltal with an infinite amount to explore and visit. The town sits at the bottom of the valley but is off the main road, so feels much more authentic than other towns. It's all but a hidden gem.

    Harburg is a charming little town in Bavarian Swabia.

    Harburg is a charming little town in Bavarian Swabia. Eventually, the old part of the town is very small, the whole can be walked around easily, literally in 20 minutes. Beautiful, picturesque houses, next to which flows the Wörnitz river with clear water, where swans and wild ducks swim and nest in the surrounding grasses and bushes. On the hill above the town stands the medieval Harburg Castle. Built in the 10-11th century, until recently it was privately owned, but since 2000 it belongs to a cultural foundation whose aim is to preserve the castle as a historical asset in the future. There are lovelly views of the river, the town and its surroundings from the castle. With not very high hills and a picturesque river, the area is a beautiful place for rest, cycling, walks in nature. This small town is located right on the so-called "Romantic Road" and is a short distance from other similar places on this road - Donauwürt and Nördlingen, for example, which are beautiful small towns also and have their past going back centuries.

    Map and information provided by tourist information in English. A completely walled town with 13 towers and 4 gates. Most of the buildings within the walls are from 14th and 15th century. A lovely small town to wander in. Large parking area just outside wall.

    Kelheim is a cute town on the Danube river and very easy access to lots of walking/hiking or biking paths. Great location for day trips to other sites. and a stop for many of the river cruises we saw.

    As I cannot eat gluten, I entered the breakfast room with my „survival kit“ - as I always do in hotels - but this time I was happily surprised with the excellent food they offer! Cleanliness is another strong point of this place. I highly recommend it!

    What a fantastic location.

    What a fantastic location. I am always looking for areas with Castles and historic villages. I picked this hotel because of the price & rating, I go from area to area on the booking.com website until I find something that is close to where I want to be or on the way to where I am going. I was more than pleasantly surprised when I arrived here. Not far from here are also several monasteries as well as the famous "Sissi Schloss". Just walking around the castle and the historic village of Harburg can take up a whole day. A real gem. The Hotel Restaurant Straussen where I stayed had great food.
