- From US$56.50 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 238 reviewsThe location, in a peaceful garden close to Play Negra was fantastic. The array of birds and wildlife in a relatively small area was staggering. There are just a few apartments spread out amongst the grounds yet we saw over twenty species of birds in a couple of hours including toucans, hummingbirds and Montezuma oropendula. We also saw a mother and baby sloth in the tree above our room, howler monkeys, agouti and frogs! It's an easy walk to the national park and there's lots of restaurants within walking distance. The food truck close by was particularly tasty. There's also a large new looking supermarket nearby. The accommodation itself was great value for money. Having the outside sitting area meant we could still enjoy the wildlife when it was raining. We had a kettle, coffee maker and a small fridge as well as basic eating utensils, so it was perfect for preparing simple cold meals. The accommodation was very clean and smelt fresh which can be hard to maintain in the humid environment. The provision of a hammock and drying rack was appreciated. We also noticed they were doing some little renovations and taking steps to keep the place nice. Communication was warm and easy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. Overall Cahuita was fantastic.Guest review bySusanUnited Kingdom
- From US$149.16 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 140 reviewsCahuita Inn is an oasis on the southern Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. Exceptional value for money, standing out head and shoulders above anything else we found in Costa Rica in this mid range price bracket. Contemporary comfort, style, security, wonderful service, delicious food, calm atmosphere, beautiful hammock strewn palm grove right on the ocean, with waves rolling in on your doorstep. It was stunning and so relaxing. If you are lucky enough to find a room, just book it! We did and extended our stay twice. Thank you so much Giuseppe, Elisa and your loyal, excellent staff team.Guest review byAlexandraUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 337 reviewsVery clean accommodation in beautiful surroundings. The hosts were making sure we had everything we needed. Their kindness definitely exceeded our expectations. The whole place is very well maintained, super clean. It's a great location almost at the beach, and walking distance to the centre of Cahuita and the Cahuita National Park. There was also an opportunity to rent bikes, free of charge, which was a great addition to our stay. We had a fantastic time staying at New Caribe Point. Definitely recommend! :)Guest review byJoannaPoland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 182 reviewsThe location and the grounds are simply stunning. The whole property is a beautiful tropical oasis garden. The rooms are small but comfortable with simple facilities that are the necessities. Come to this place to enjoy the natural setting in the most relaxing environment, not for a fancy hotel. We loved it here and extended our stay. Patty the owner is incredibly friendly and helpful and makes great coffee in the morning to sip while you enjoy the ocean front views and local wildlife.Guest review byKarlyJapan
- From US$83 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 264 reviewsSuch a beautiful spot! Sadly we were only there for one night, passing through, but it was really lovely. Big room, comfy beds with mosquito nets, good shower. You really feel like you're in the jungle. I saw two toucans in the morning, which was a definite bucket list animal for me. Really near the playa negra which is a beautiful beach. It's a little walk from the town - but we were transferred each way. Would definitely return!!Guest review byCharlotte PinkUnited Kingdom

Situated just next to Cahuita National Park, surrounded by the jungle, the accommodation offers out of this world aural, visual and olfactory sensations. The bungalow itself was fantastic. The kettle and coffee making machine were a bonus. The separate bungalow providing all the kitchen essentials was also very useful. The best accommodation option for nature lovers 🙉🦥🦜Guest review byJoannaAustralia
- From US$124.30 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.7Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 270 reviewsIt was a great place to relax for one night as I passed through the area. The tub on the patio was amazing with candles. I loved the how the shower had two shower heads so two people can shower at the same time. The breakfast was amazing, delicious and so much food. I didn't leave the property so I don't know anything about the location. The service was genuine, warm, and welcoming.Guest review byMelaniaAbkhazia

Excellent location, lovely atmosphere, generous breakfast and friendly staff. A great pool too. Right near the beach so great for watching the sunrise and for chilling with a beer in the evening. - Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 86 reviewsBabilonia is in Cahuita, also very close to the beach, few minutes walk. The place was very quiet, between threes and bushes, we even had a sloth on the three next to our place. The place was very clean, and the garbage taken out daily, towels changed every other day. The owner also lives on the property, very helpful.Guest review bySaroltaCanada

Costa Rica, for those who prefer nature as a concept not to be endured too long, and with minimal discomfort. I can't speak to other parts of the country but the Caribbean coast is not a place for real travelers. Go to Honduras or Guatemala instead.Guest review bySeanCanada - 6.0
The area in Cahuita we stayed at was ok, I wouldn't go back.
The area in Cahuita we stayed at was ok, I wouldn't go back. But we visited Puerto Viejo, that town is definitely great. Lots going on there, beautiful beaches, lots of restaurants, etc. A happy place. But not Cahuita.Guest review byBeckyUnited States - 10.0
Cahuita is a hidden gem.
Cahuita is a hidden gem. It’s a small, quiet peaceful place to stay that is near to Puerto Viejo, but without the noise. The beaches and wildlife were wonderful, and we loved visiting Cahuita National Park. There is a bus stop in Cahuita which goes to Puerta Viejo. We loved eating at many of the local restaurants. They were all good.Guest review byAnonymous
