This business is owned by a Columbian family, very authentic and warm hearted. The housekeeping is impeccable clean and the service team all over super helpful whenever they can. Especially John was always asking if we needed something. Even if we didn’t speak Spanish the Google translator made our communication with the staff easy to communicate. We were lucky to see some wild animals like the Capybara by the river and a couple of the Armadillos at night. Close by you have a wonderful family owned coffee farm - Recucca which you can visit by mountain bike within 20min easy ride uphill and 10mins back downhill. They offer horse back riding and it’s definitely worth trying it out because the surroundings are breathtaking. The whirlpool is a super plus and the coffee in this area will be hard to find in this quality outside the coffee triangle this is what we have experienced now after writing this review and having travelled for another week. The mattress of the beds are the best we have ever had in a hotel all over the world. As a little suggestion we would have liked a mosquito net around it even there are not many mosquitoes but a few hit us at night. One suggestion we would like to give. The food selection is quite small and there is really not much option in the area. We stayed for 5 nights and for this amount of time they need to improve a bit even if they would start offering simple Colombian traditional dishes like Rice, beans and eggs or something like Quesadillas which are easy to be made. The Raclette is a nice idea and probably works for meat eaters. For me as a vegetarian it was not really a good option to have since the vegetables can’t be really seasoned on a Raclette. Still, we would highly recommended this place and would return here if we would come back in this area especially having seen a bit more of Colombia already and we are super happy that we started of our journey in the Quindio area.Guest review byjeanGermany

You can see and hear the birds chirp in the morning while you sip on a delicious cup of coffee or hot chocolate. From the glamping, you can hike for 20 minutes and arrive at a beautiful waterfall in the middle of the jungle mountain. The glamping itself is gorgeous, you can watch the stars at night through the crystal ceiling. The place is also ecological and has a commitment to sustainability. For example, you can participate and plant a seed of the iconic and endangered wax palm tree. The glamping is also super clean and very comfortable. You can book lovely tours/things to do with the hotel. We had a bird-watching experience early in the morning with an amazing and knowledgeable guide. Beautiful small town nested in the Coffee growing region.
Beautiful small town nested in the Coffee growing region. Great location to explore around other towns, and the famous Cocora Valley. I am not sure if Salento or Filandia was used as the inspiration for Encanto (the movie). Calle Real in Salento is full of small arts and crafts stores and plenty of restaurants to choose from. We spent 2 night there and thought it was the right amount of time. We ate dinner at El Patio which had live music, good food and service. Had lunch at Casa Willy’s (jeep) great food and good service too. You can walk around and it is very safe. My only recommendation is try not to drive into Salento at night, very dark, narrow road with tons of sharp curves, this drive at night is only for people experienced in driving in Colombia. Most importantly clean, and felt safe with my family. The hotel was beautiful and affordable. The staff was great, and helpful. The only cons were the air conditioning didn’t work while we were there, which is common, and the menu would have gotten old if our stay was longer, but still delicious. This is an area that is absolutely beautiful to explore.
This is an area that is absolutely beautiful to explore. If you are to stay in this location be prepared to bring your own food for making meals. We errored in not thinking ahead and the distance to a grocery store is long with curvy roads. If you have entomophobia this is not the place to be. We saw some marvelous butterflies, and huge roaches and even had an Aguti in the backyard. Our family enjoyed the warm weather, swam in the pool, and had a very enjoyable vacation. The town is not ready to take any type of tourists. No decent restaurants, no heath facility, many places don’t take US dollars neither credit cards. No bank facilities during the weekends. Filandia is a charming town that is not to be missed! More people head to Salento (which we stopped at on our way to the Cocora Valley), but Filandia is the clear winner.
