A lovely hotel with attentive and professional staff. A great location and with good security. Felt very safe in this hotel. The room was a nice size with wonderful mahogany, I think, solid wooden fixtures. A walk in shower but I would have preferred a shower to include a handset and a flexible hose. The room can get cold at night as no heating but I did see a member of staff transporting some portable electric radiators. We especially looked forward to the breakfast in the restaurant with the lovely staff many of whom worked in the same venue which serves as an Italian restaurant from around midday, I think. There is also a gym, sauna, massage and hairdresser on site. The staff in the hotel all wear smart uniforms and this adds to the feel that we were in a special hotel. When they serve us all the waiters, the receptionists night shift , the security guards , the kindness of a special waiter, who gives us a nice dessert on him . It was a very nice detail. We fell in love with the workers, from the cleaners to the housekeeping, all the security guards, people at the Terraze restaurant, at the pool. The location is perfect around the corner. You have a supermarket, and then on the other side, you have 2 blocks down. You have so many different restaurants. Coffee places everything was walking, distant, close to the museum. Traffic is horrible and there is only bus service (no metro like Medellin and other more comparable cities). Give yourself ample time for transport if you're visiting the city. A 12km ride at 0700 from the airport to another part of the city took almost 2 hrs. The drive back at 1000 took 75 minutes. Good food. Helpful people. Wonderful museums. Bogota is great, vibrant and exciting with friendly inhabitants. Where Toscana lodge is situated is perfect for long stays, like mine. It is reasonably close to el Centro and I walk to town every 2nd day, yet it is in the middle of Chapinero within walking distance to four Supermarkets.
