United KingdomThe accommodation was comfortable and quirky. One can self-cater or dine-in thanks to a talented onsite Chef. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The management team matched their local knowledge with our interests, to suggest and organise local activities that helped us get the best from our visit to the Chobe NP area. We did a day trip to the nearby Vic Falls, with lunch at a spectacular setting overlooking the Zambezi, and a boat trip on the Chobe River direct from the hotel's own dock. The bush camping is an unforgettable experience! African nights in the wild round a camp fire are special. With wonderful game drives led by a knowledgeable and friendly guide and efficient and helpful camp support team.

Secure parking - always very important for our motorbikes.
Room - cannot fault it. Our own little home from home. Every detail has been thought about as if the room has been lived in by the owners, not just turned into a guest house. The bed was super comfortable and large, comfy armchairs, good working desk, fabulous wardrobe and storage including hangers!! There was also a patio where we could sit outside.
Loads and loads of power sockets all round the room and in convenient places. We had no trouble charging anything at all.
Bathroom was beautiful and the shower fantastic. All toiletries provided and super thick towels.
Breakfast was amazing. Cooked to order and hot!
Lumba is a lovely person and fabulous host. She couldn’t do enough for us and looked after us extremely well. We felt like a part of the family.
We extended our stay and stayed for five nights in the end. Such a wonderful place.

Only 7km from Ngoma Gate. The quiet area.
On route to the gate one morning on the road we saw African wild dogs, elephants and impala!

The cottages and camp site are located about 15 mins from Ngoma on the Botswana side of the border. We stayed in a self-catering cottage and would describe the facilities as excellent. The cottage had a queen size bed with mosquito net, a sofa which could be used as a bed, a large ensuite bathroom with an outside shower accessed from inside the bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen. There is also an outdoor deck and table, and a braai for cooking. The reception has a well stocked shop with food, their own grown produce, and craft items for sale. There is wifi at reception area, plus complimentary tea and coffee, wit the option to buy coffee pods for the coffee machine. Staff were really helpful and organised an early check-in for us – the communication was excellent. The site also has campsites and ‘glamping’ tents, a swimming pool and a deck overlooking the Chobe river. We would definitely stay again.Guest review byMary New ZealandNew Zealand

Our room (no 8) was nicely decorated and had a nice little terrace looking into the little garden with a nice restaurant. The food (breakfast & dinner) was very good, the WiFi worked well too. Parking in front of the building (not secluded, but pretty safe). The highlight was the 3 hours boat tour in the afternoon. The hotel has 3 own boats, which are not so big, but ideal to get closer to the animals than the big boats. We saw hundreds of elephants, lots of buffalos, antelopes, hippos and crocodiles. Muchenje has beautiful shaded level campsites with wonderful exclusive use spotless bathroom facilities, the Staff are professional and communication around your booking is almost instantaneous unlike the Botswana norm. The position is perfect to explore the southern reaches of the Chobe National Park as an alternative to Ihaha, or as a stop between Kasane and Savuti or before Ngoma Gate. It was easy to get around and we were able to get everything we needed. The boat trip on the Chobe River was unforgettable with the river crossing of the elephants and the sun going down! We also visit the Chobe Game Reserve and were able to see many lions, Kudu, impalas and a leopard!!! We did the early morning game drive and visitors must remember to dress warmly!
