the city of Natal spent a lot of money to dig and extend the beach. there is no more sand , it is feet hurting shells and stones. I can see the effect , not that many people at this time of year. and the agents pushing their umbrellas and space are aggressive and bothersome. Small town, where you can walk around with no worries. The locals are really kind. The beaches are clean and beautiful. One thing I didn't like was seeing the lack of government investment in basic infrastructure, more specifically regarding sewage As you walk around town, and unfortunately it happened everyday I was there, you can smell the sewers. This city is great for those who love the beach and associated activities. Also nice seafood options at a variety of price points. Overall, compared with other cities in Brazil, it feels quite safe (obviously sensible precautions should be taken with showing off cell phones, jewelry, etc), and people are generally really friendly. Affordable to get around with Ubers and lots of lovely views and outdoor activities. In the vicinity of many beautiful beachside communities and other things. Pipa is the kind of place that stays in your heart :) I travelled for a month from Maceio to Natal, seeing the most amazing beaches and more, but Pipa is something else. I want to keep going back every year if I can, and I am the kind of person that never goes back to the same destination. So...
