    The hotel is located in Rila mountains area, close to the Rila Monastery and the cave of St Ivan. Family who run the place are extremely pleasant people, every day started and ended with a smile. I enjoyed every moment spent there, felt right at home, and ate amazingly delicious and home-cooked food. Everything was communicated transparently and on-time, super helpful during my arrival. My room was clean and looked exactly as was shown in the photos, with everything necessary for one's travels. The experience of being there is only positive, I could go on and on. Nothing bad to say whatsoever, I hope I will have the opportunity to come back and stay here again, the area has such a peaceful and serene energy, it was a pleasure and blessing to stay at this hotel.

    I just love this place. Once you visit Magiyata Na Rila complex, you feel you want to go there again. This is my second visit and it feels even better than before. The surrounding of the resort is simply magical. Waking up with the sound of the fast running water stream and birds singing, is addictive… The food is so yummy and just few minutes drive from the eternal Rila Monastery…

    We had a wonderful stay at Villa Ema! The staff is great. The two women were extremely polite and accommodating! The breakfast was amazing- homemade Bulgarian breakfast that was enjoyed by the whole family! The room was large, the beds and pillows were very comfortable. We will definitely come back! Thank you!

    The location is just wonderful. Of course, you have to a car to get up, but once you do, it is an amazing experience! The restaurant in the hotel is really great - super tasty local (and not only) food and drinks. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast there and all were wonderful + also great price performance.

    Very good village.If you want thermal spa this village is for you.Good choice for us to cross the boarder in Skopje,North Macedonia.Dupnitsa can be reach 20 mins by bus.Kyustendil is one hour away from Dupnitsa by bus where you can take a bus to Rila monastery and Skopje.

    It is a magical remote location situated in an amazing forest.Clean, fresh air and beautiful forest of tall pine trees. Very well maintained and cute surroundings. It is not exactly a village but a remote location with few mountain hotels .Perfect for hiking to the Seven Rilla Lakes or other less difficult hikes.You need a car for sure but there are also buses from Sofia passing through.The lift is far for a walking distance .It is around 6.5 km from there.

    Kyustendil is small town but beautiful and with many things to do there. You can go to the Osogovo mountain to ski, or to hike, there is a breathtaking views on the top. Nice places to eat are: Chainata, Tihiat kut, Hotel Ramira, Mayorskata kushta and ect. Visit the museum of Vladimir Dimitrov - maistora. The historical museum offers a lot to be seen as well. Go to spa! The mineral waters in Kyustendil are very healing and do not miss to enjoy the open water pools with hot water especially in winter time.

    This is the iconic monastery of Bulgaria.

    This is the iconic monastery of Bulgaria. It is free and well worth the visit. It should only take you about two hours to see the whole monastery. Make sure to out the back side of the monastery and buy some makitsa.

    We especially enjoyed the hot springs and that it's close enough for a trip to the seven rila lakes. The town itself is pretty quiet, we've been at the beginning of july and there weren't a lot of turists. Out stay was during the week (wednesday-friday).

    Very friendly and helpful staff, great car parking, comfortable bed, good wifi, nice swimming pool (a little on the small side). Very good breakfast with a good choice of different options. On the down side, no lift, no air-conditioning and a little deceptive to mention that the Rila Monastery was about 16km away...not CLEARLY mentioning that this is in a straight line. It is a one and a half hour drive..... 😔

    Kyustendil is not really a tourism city.

    Kyustendil is not really a tourism city. Street names are in Bulgarian only; there are lots of restaurants on the square, but none had a menu in any language other than Bulgarian. There are not many attractions, but most are located within walking distance of the main square.

    There was enough to see at the monastary, even though most museums there seemed no to be open (it was February!). Entrance is free but be ready to pay 5 levs for parking (you do get all day for that). The area has dramatic scenery with some other things to see other than just the Monastary. We visited the grave of James Baucher and discovered why Sofia has a station named after this Irishman!

    Quaint little Spa town and you can see they are trying to modernise it. I enjoyed the location as I wanted a spa break, a few days is enough though as there is not a lot to do in the town itself, That said the surrounding hills are great for walking etc
