- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 58 reviewsThere isn’t anything bad to say about this place. If you read any reviews let it be this one that tells you to book this place to stay!! It’s charming, welcoming and secluded! The cottage itself is old school but everything in it works! The added space outside is just the icing on the cake!! The chairs are comfortable, there are blankets for the cooler weather and the view speaks for itself. Your host is exceptional, she kind and thoughtful and didn’t hesitate to pick up the phone!! She’s honestly thought of everything. You won’t leave disappointed and you will want to stay forever and not want to leave!!Guest review byKimberleyAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 86 reviewsVery close to nature. At night, we enjoyed looking at the stars and the full moon. In the morning, we waked up and listened the singing of the birds and enjoyed the fresh air. Great location, easy access to everything. Though there is already aircon inside, there are still plenty of firewood supplied to keep us warm when we need them. We will be back again.Guest review byShuilingAustralia

The bathroom was fantastic with monsoon shower and spa bath. The breakfast options were amazing from yogurt and cereal to bacon, eggs and pancakes. We loved riding the Riesling Trail. We had lunch at the Watervale Hotel which was amazing, staff were friendly and helped us choose our menu, making dining experience very memorable. An interesting town; we were hoping to do the Historic tour of 9 facilities with key-access but ran out of time. And then we found out that it was going to cost us $30.00 per person, 7 people all going to the same places together, plus a $50.00, obviously returnable, security deposit for the key, so that money went towards dinner at the Burra Hotel. 4 hotels in town, we managed to "try" them all. The ONLY thing lacking in Burra is somewhere that you can easily buy beer, wine & spirits. Yes, you can get these across the bar but a specific outlet would give people a better choice. We were having a beer outside 1 of the hotels, a couple arrived in their 4WD wanting to buy some wine. They went into that hotel & came out empty-handed. We were in the same boat when looking for something specific for someone; it was a "no" across all 4 hotels.Guest review byRICHARDAustralia - 10.0

Great place to stay. Lovely parrots 🦜 outside the cabin. Close to wineries and the Watervale Hotel for a lovely dinner. Quiet and peaceful location you really feel away from the city. Breakfast provided included fresh bread which is lovely and a very homely touch the owners provide. Well done.Guest review byCandaceAustralia - 10.0

A very short drive to many wineries and to Clare for e.g. supplies. The historical buildings in Mintaro made for a nice stroll. The Magpie and Stump pub was great. The cafe open Friday mornings and weekends was also great.Guest review byKathleenAustralia - 10.0

There is no village at Penwortham.
There is no village at Penwortham. It's just a few houses along a road between Auburn and Clare. I was surprised by how few people were around over the weekend. It was very quiet on Clare on Saturday afternoon.Guest review byClareAustralia - 8.0

There is a lot of history in and around Farrell Flat area you have Burra 10 minutes down the road Mintaro is another historic place to visit. There is a beautiful painting of a train on the silo's at Farrell Flat. I know there are travellers that are going around to places just to see all the painted silo's around their state this is just another place to put on the list to visit.Guest review byIRENEAustralia - 10.0

On a whim we decided to go to th small town of Burra, we wish we had found it sooner. If you do decide to visit Burra, make a day of it, well worth th trip.Guest review byGregoryAustralia - 10.0
Burra is a town with an amazing mining history.
Burra is a town with an amazing mining history. It is full of houses that are up to 150 years old. When in Burra, buy the Burra Passport from the tourist information centre. It provides access to the main tourist attractions including the mine site, Bon Accord museum, Redruth Gaol and the miner’s dugouts.Guest review byMalcolmAustralia - 10.0
