This property is nestled within a very private compound and offers 8 individually designed 100 year old heritage villas. It’s the perfect retreat for animal lovers. Pets are allowed and the resort has very friendly in-house pets. Nearby is LASSie, if you would like to walk dogs or play with cats. Featuring an outdoor pool and free WiFi, it is a 2-minute drive from Cenang Beach. We stayed 5 nights and loved it, although this place may not be for everyone. We stayed in “Laguna” which we thought was the pick of the villas. First impressions really are that you are staying in an old Malay wooden house and they do look quite ramshackle from the outside. There are no glass windows, only shutters, and when we first arrived we thought we would be too hot and get eaten alive by mosquitos. However, each villa has fans and air conditioning, and in the evening we would close the shutters and put on the air conditioning, and by the time we went to bed the villa was very comfortable to the point we turned off the air conditioning and just used the ceiling fan. Mosquitos were simply NOT an issue. We just thought it was a wonderful experience staying in these fantastic old structures which have been brought from various parts of Malaysia, and we did find them very comfortable. The entire place is very peaceful and a great escape from the main beach area. The food in the restaurant is excellent, although expensive by Malaysian standards, and the restaurant itself is a lovely place to eat with its views over the lagoon. Quite popular also given the number of non residents who would turn up to dinner. The staff were lovely and looked after us really well. It is about a 15 minute walk to the main beach area.
