Plenty of space for four people to spread out and enjoy the view across the lake. The close proximity to the amazing geological sites was a real bonus. The laundry facilities were excellent and we made good use of them.

Located within 2.6 km of Myvatn Nature Baths, Birkilauf in Myvatn has a number of amenities, including lake and mountain views. With a terrace, the property also features a shared lounge and a fully-equipped kitchen. 11/10! host joanna was really excellent, she made sure that we were settled in and showed great hospitality! she had great recommendations on where to go, and also topped up the breakfast goodies for us when it was running low. the guesthouse also was really amazing - just 4 rooms and a huge living area and a very well stocked kitchen. all the kitchenware and appliances were high quality and super easy to use, and we really cooked up a feast every night because it really had everything you need! (including soy sauce for us Asians!) of the 3 nights we stayed here, we had a whole day of snow and so we just stayed in and watched tv (we really needed the downtime), and saw aurora right from the balcony one of those nights. the rooms a bit small but overall still comfortable and nice, and considering we largely hung out at the common area this really wasn't any issue. birkilauf was HANDS DOWN our #1 accoms in iceland and i will be recommending all my friends to stay here!

Everything is so wonderful, have nice kitchen, clean room, spacious living room. Attic is cute, fits up to 4 people even more and more. Nothing can complain. Would like to come back one day.❤️

At Dimmuborgir Guesthouse, all rooms and cottages feature private bathroom facilities. Private full kitchen facilities are provided in the cottages, while guest rooms have access to a shared kitchen. It was easy to find, the key was waiting for us because we had a late check in. The house was clean and cozy and bigger than we thought with lots of beds for everyone. The breakfast was good and the smoked trout is amazing. I loved that the property had two resident dogs greeting us. Very friendly staff. I would stay here again and recommend the guesthouse to friends and family.
