Damiano (owner) is the best. "Ambasador of Olympia". Kind. Funny. He knows how to give good advice about food, drinks, where to go, what to do and what to see. We had the best coffe on abandoned train station he recomended. Also this guesthouse is so near to the Ancient Olympia site you do not eve have to go there with car. It is less than 10 minute walk. Definetely recomend staying here. Did I mention good breakfast? 🙂

The property and its surroundings are absolutely beautiful, and the pool was the perfect spot to unwind on those hot days. We also discovered a nearby restaurant where we had the best meal of our entire vacation — a real highlight. The host was wonderful: warm, welcoming, and incredibly friendly. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

Rex is a family-run hotel located in the outskirts of the small town of Zacharo, at a distance of 1 km from the coastal line of western Peloponnese. Decorated with well-kept plants, antiques and rattan furniture, it offers a sense of countryside living. The hospitality is fabulous. We arrived late at night, Valentina brought us complimentary cake to the room. The breakfast was amazing. It was off season, so we were the only guests, but Dora still made just for us the impressive array of breakfast dishes! The lobby is like a huge living room that is beautiful and feels very homey. The town is only half an hour drive to ancient Olympia, so if you are on your way to of from Olympia (as we were), this is an awesome place to spend the night.
