I chose it mainly because it was pet-friendly, and we traveled with our cat who turned out to be their first feline guest. The staff was really helpful, and accommodated all our requests, even helped me order a surprise birthday cake for my husband. There is a washing machine and a dryer in a seperate area which can be used by all guests staying in the old bakery.

Very clean and spacious. Nice design with pop art and boxing memorabilia. We met the owner in person who was very friendly. Outside patio area with glass roof was a nice spot to have breakfast.

I have rented whole house (two apartments) for 7 of us and it was the best decision. House sits in front of the river and riverside cycle route. Location is very quiet. There are two parking spots in the garden (behind the gate) and free parking by the road. Garden is full of flowers and is maintained very well. There is comfortable outdoor seating and bicycle storage inside the house. Both apartments were wery comfortable and fully equipped. It was the best apartment I had ever booked.

After arriving on the night train and riding up into the hills on hired mountain bikes to get here, we were able to check in early which was a blessed relief! (Note - The route that Google maps gave us on our bikes went off-road, and we had to walk part of the way uphill as it was too steep to ride the mountain trail, especially with our backpacks. You can also catch a local bus to the village to get here). The apartment was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. The kids spent most of their time outside roaming up the hiking paths or riding their bikes up and down the hilly streets in the quiet village. This accommodation is on the edge of the village near the top of a hill and the view is lovely out towards the forests and mountains. We came in early spring and the trees were just starting to green up so I can see it would be even more spectacular in late spring and through summer and autumn. There were probably a dozen or so campers at all stages of life using the grounds with their tents and vans, as well as others staying in apartments, and it was peaceful with a feeling of camaraderie, no loud voices or music, just people chilling and a few kids roaming around doing kid stuff. This village and accommodation was a big contrast to Bad Schandau, which was literally crawling with cars and tourists (we were there over the Easter long weekend), and we were so glad we had not stayed in town but on this calming and chill mountainside.
