National park - not close about 1.5 hour drive. we didn't go to Mt Rainer. Front desk helped us with what to do as it was our last day of vacation and we had a flight late night. Seattle is not so far (less than 30 minutes) and we went there according to front desk suggestions and enjoyed it. Breakfast was good, Room was big and comfortable. Bed was OK.
