United KingdomAs seasoned travellers from the UK we came across this little gem after stopping off the Amtrak station. The manager Ansh was fantastic and couldn’t do enough for us. The Victorian room was beautiful and very unique. The history and memorabilia in the hotel was very unique. La plata was a very special place for us and this property is just perfect would definitely recommend to any travellers!

Beautiful hotel and rooms. Very inviting. Friendly staff. Wish we had time on our trip to stay longer. It will definitely be on our radar to stay again if we are in the area or if we want a vacation. It's definitely a destination for relaxation.

The location was excellent and the staff was exceptionally pleasant. I stay at several hotels and this one is probably the number 1 spot for how it looked and we were treated.

Location on the highway and reasonable distance from Kirksville. Staff was very polite and helpful. train theme was interesting but not the main reason we stayed there.

A very clean, cute little hotel, in a tiny town. The staff is always extremely friendly and helpful. This was our third stay and we will definitely be back. They offer complimentary bikes if you want to take a ride around. The train theme is adorable, so if you have any railfans in your life, they will love this place. Bonus- they have dog friendly rooms!
