Golden Sword with a Boat is as quirky and unique as its name is unusual. The spacious, spotless room was on the top floor of a large two-floor building in a nicely kept garden setting. In the same compound there is a temple-like structure and apparently the owner is a monk who practiced in Taiwan for a long time. The staff is welcoming and helpful. A unique perk is the charming floating tea room restaurant located down some steps and a path on the river, serving delicious teas and Taiwanese meals. The staff even let us have our breakfast there the next morning. My son and I liked the huge metal dragon sculpture at the front gate!

Its an excellent place. SO beautiful. The houses are well maintained. Its right by the river and very quiet and in the lap of nature. Very peaceful. Not too far from great restaurants and grocery stores (need your own vehicle to get to the hotel and access the restaurants). And they have two very adorable dogs and some cats on the property.And the staff family who looks after the property is very helpful and responsive

What a wonderful find, this charming family run hotel sits lazily on the kwai river, the grounds are rustic with walking paths down to the river, where there are tables and chairs, even a hammock, where you can watch the boats go down the river. The peace and tranquillity is a wonderful break from the town and the noise. The room is very spacious equipped with fridge and kettle, AC, and a little balcony. Bed and pillows very comfortable. The staff are so lovely, with the owner who even cooks the breakfast with her staff. Breakfast is plentiful, changing daily for the 4 days we stayed. The pool is in the next facility, which was lovely to soak in especially to be right on the river. It is approx. 1 km to main town, but an very easy walk just over the bridge. We hired a motorbike for a couple of days mainly to get to Hellfire pass. The cost is around 300 per day. A tuk tuk from bus station should cost around 100 bt. Favourite places to visit was the Death Railway museum and the war cemetery, and of course Hell Fire pass, all reminders of what people endured. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful Kean Kan.

Beautiful location surrounded by rice fields in the countryside near Kanchanaburi. The Wat Tham Suea/Khao Noi temple complex is within walking distance, as are several charming cafés. The cottage is comfortable, with a bathtub on the balcony — perfect for relaxing. Although there’s a café nearby, it’s closed in the evening, so you still have plenty of privacy. The owner is very friendly and helpful. We arrived using Grab, and on the way back, the owner kindly helped us get back to Kanchanaburi.
