Staying at Podi Hoona Eco Bush Camp would likely provide a peaceful and eco-friendly experience, allowing guests to appreciate the natural surroundings and perhaps spot some of the local wildlife, including geckos, in their natural habitat. We loved our time at Yala Safari Lodge, if you are looking for an authentic, natural and personal experience we can’t recommend this place enough. We visited with our 18month old son and stayed 1 night. The hosts were very welcoming and cooked us a lovely dinner of Sri Lankan food, and built us a campfire. The next morning we went on safari with the owner of the accommodation. He has over 25 years experience as a Yala safari guide and his passion, knowledge and want for you to have the best experience stood out to us. Being so close to Yala National park entrance gave us the opportunity to get to the front of the queue for the entrance early in the morning. We spotted 2 leopards - 1 extremely close to the truck. Along with many others animals including elephants, mongoose, deer, Monkeys, various birds. An incredible safari and couldn’t have left happier. You won’t regret staying here, the only thing we would say is if you can’t live without aircon - this isn’t for you. Book a fancy resort if that’s the case. If you are open minded and want an experience which is authentic, then book this place for you. Thank you again to Suneth, Thushara and Wijepala. Priyantha and his family gave us an experience we will never forget.The family was extremely friendly and hospitable and Priyantha and his son,Hansa,went above and beyond with their care for us. Communication after booking was excellent. As the location is off the main road and up a challenging but fun dirt track we were met at Yoda lake and followed Hansa to the accommodation,which is located 10 yards from the perimeter of Yala National park. As we were driving our rented Tuktuk,Priyantha and Hansa kindly drove us back to the local town and main roads at the end of our stay. We stayed 4 nights in an authentic mud house which is set in a wonderfully designed woodland setting.Rooms are very private,extremely peaceful and away from all the tourists. Priyantha provided plenty of excellent healthy food as and when you wanted it,you will not go hungry here.A fire was set for us to sit round every evening with the host providing authentic live music after dinner.Three of the healthiest and friendliest dogs belong to the family and will gladly lead you on the many walks available from the property. We saw an abundance of wildlife on the local walks,monkeys,deer,eagles,crocodiles to name but a few.Priyantha kindly took us traditional rod fishing,net fishing,to a secret beach where we were the only two people and were lucky enough to see an elephant very close to the beach in addition to a visit to a local monastery and local temple which had a unique twist.A full day safari tour was also organised by Priyantha with his very experienced and friendly driver,at a very reasonable price.We simply cannot recommend Yala wild house and farm high enough if your willing to embrace an experience never to be forgotten. Thank you Priyantha,Hansa,Loki,driver and family,you all went above and beyond to provide us with the most amazing experience.

Its given real experience of living in jungle, preserved wilderness around the premises given an extra value. Its an ideal place to relax in the jungle.

Lovely staff, beautiful property and the rooms are stunning. Very comfortable and homely in the rooms. We appreciated the staffs attentiveness and they really wanted us to enjoy our stay. They also organised a safari for us at Yala and the location of the villa is great for that!

Its placed in a very great location and nature friendly and the staff was very friendly and meantime where they were very professional as well. Worth for the price. Highly recommended for everyone!!

A well deserved 10/10. The Den at Yala is a beautiful property with lots of character. The rooms were so clean and spacious. The location is superb close to national park entrance especially if early morning start. Surrounded by nature so you feel when you arrive relaxed. The meals were delicious. Gabrielle and Sanjana the couple who own and run the property were super friendly organised a safari for us. They made our family trip to Sri Lanka very special. Huge thank you from the Hogan family.
