Fantastic stay after our visit to the National Park We stayed here for one night after visiting the National Park, and we can wholeheartedly recommend this place. We were traveling with two children and had a wonderful stay. In the evening, we had a long and pleasant conversation with the owner outside, after which he surprised us with a delicious à la carte dinner. The next morning, a generous breakfast was waiting for us — beautifully prepared down to the smallest detail. The interior also deserves a special mention: tastefully decorated, full of atmosphere, and with great attention to detail. Not your typical, plain hotel room, but a warm and charming space with beautiful furniture. Everything was also spotlessly clean. We honestly couldn’t have wished for a better stay in this region. The owner sometimes also offers guided tours through the National Park — definitely worth asking about! In short: highly recommended!

Beautiful location and lovely people. Brilliantly positioned for a safari and right on a gorgeous lake where you can swim. The food cooked by Sapun’s (sorry about the spelling)mother were some of the best Sri Lankan dishes we had over the entire holiday and sitting by the fire pit watching the fireflies after dinner as our two boys caught frogs in the garden was really special. Would highly recommend a stay here - you won’t be disappointed!

Extremely clean and looked after, with important details such as mosquito net for the bed as the area hosts a lot of them! Kind and helpful service from the owner, his wife and his mum. Delicious and cheap food served on site. Bikes to explore the ruins can be dropped directly here! I would definitely recommend!

The house was spacious and set in a beautiful garden not far from the lake and within easy cycling distance of the museum and old town. The room was very clean, comfortable and well appointed with a lovely balcony overlooking the garden. The breakfasts are evening meals were generous and delicious. Binara and his family were friendly and welcoming . He speaks very good English and communicated clearly and promptly throughout. He went out of his way to ensure that I got the most out of my stay and was so kind and helpful in helping me with travel arrangements. He recommended a wonderful elephant safari with a very knowledgeable and experienced guide which I really enjoyed. This was a great base for exploring Polonaruwa and I would highly recommend Binara Homestay.

This property is one of the few hotels with a great view for the amount you spend. It has a stunning lake view and is excellent for nature lovers. There were a lot of birds in the evening, and the sunset was magnificent. There is a nice pool to relax while watching the sunset and pool beds to relax if you need. It might not be the ideal location for luxury seekers, but it is excellent for any traveller who loves nature! Comfortable rooms and wonderful breakfast. The manager and staff were really helpful, and I was happy to see a staff full of young blood! The manager said that the owners had changed recently, so hopefully, it will be even better when I visit the next time!

The apartment was very spacious and equipped with everything we needed. We slept very well here! The apartment is located close to the station, but it is still quiet. It is well conected with Pollanaruwa and other cities. The hosts were very kind and helpful! We came as guests and left as good friends.
