A dream destination with it's dream accomodation. There isn't one thing that we would of changed. In the most beautiful setting surrounded by nature and with the most beautiful view. We were lucky enough to have the monkeys visit early morning, such an amazing experience. The local beach is only a 5 min walk away and it's lovely and calm to have a nice refreshing dip. The owner Rita was very responsive and helpful with anything we asked. She gave us such great information which was greatly appreciated. Then there's Joaquim, what a man. He looks after the property for Rita. He can arrange anything you need on the island as he has many contacts. One of the tours we took was one of the best experiences we've had as a couple. He brought us papaya and bananas during our stay as well which were delicious. He's such a friendly man as are all of the people on Principe. The property is non-smoking and is located 10 km from Zona Ecologica Principe Ecological Zone. Amazing location! The view is the highlight. Principe Island is special and Atalaia helped us experience it in a unique way without the sterile resorts. The hosts are very responsive and will help with any arrangements and questions. You need to be independent, self sufficient and understand that this is an off-the-grid establishment with comfort limitations. Rain-water supply, solar power and difficult 4wd roads are part of the adventure. It has a fridge for cold beer though! I personally think you have to have your own 4wd car and have the skill to drive around the island. Arranging multiple trips to and from Atalaia would be impractical.

The guesthouse is beautiful and impeccably clean. The staff, Bete and Tonguinha, are incredibly friendly and take excellent care of the guests. The owner, José Manuel, is extremely courteous and ensures both the guesthouse and its visitors are well looked after. If Booking.com allowed ratings higher than 10, I would certainly give it.
