Also this hotel is very conveniently located: it's close to Matsue Castle, close to the Shimano Art Museum, close to locations where you can take beautiful pictures of the sun setting on lake Shinji, close to ferry terminals to go on lake Shinji, close to Matsue Shinjiko Onsen Station from where you can take the local Ichibata trains to places like Izumo or Matsue Vogel Park.

Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). It has a beautiful Japanese garden and a large living room, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Our friendly mascot cat will welcome you! I thought this would be just a nice sleepover place and nothing more but it is so beautiful and has a very unique traditional feel that it made our stay on the island so much better. You even get free breakfast/dinner if you don't have time to eat outside and depart early in the morning/ don't manage to fetch a table in a reataurant in the evening because there is limited amount of restaurants that are open in late evening or early morning. The whole house is very authentic and the family that runs the place also offers a little souvenir shop with super cheap prices of local souvenirs, some even locally handmade. Thr staff is super nice and the xommom areas welcoming to spend the evenings in game/living room. Also had beautiful garden and amazing views from the rooms right on the sea

It's a guesthouse/hostel that is COMPLETELY new, insanely clean, top notch minimalist designs, and the cyclist-specific rooms are amazing. One of the best moments of my trip was waking up after a long day of cycling, and seeing the port sea view from my room. Utterly brilliant. Also Setoda is a really small but beautiful port village, ideal for half a day or a short stay while you are doing the Shinamami Kaido cycling path.
