I just reread the past comments - accept what all the good ones say at face value because they reflect our experience there. Irini was exceptional on the front desk and Elizabeth, who cleaned our room every day, was exceptional! When I read each negative review I wondered if they are referring to a different hotel. If those people were expecting a $500 a night experience they should have stayed in a $500 a night hotel - there are lots to choose from on the island. Having a rental car I found there was always a parking space to return to without having the negotiate the narrow streets of the inner town. My wife’s main criteria is a comfortable bed and a clean room and environment. Mohitero got 5/5 on both. We really enjoyed the gardens and the birds and the peace and quiet. We would have no hesitation returning. It was a nice place to come “home” to after a busy day. The pictures on Booking reflect what was saw while there.

The room is beautiful and great location, close to the central of Fila, and also you can watch beautiful sunset from the road across the villa. Eirini is very friendly and kind! We received a warm welcome by Kleo who helpfully gave us some tips on how to get around the island and served snacks and juice. We arrived earlier than the check in time, but she arranged for our rooms to be ready in a short time. She and the other staff members showed great hospitality and excellent service, meeting all our requests with kind attention and care.

Apart from few walking distance stores, everything else is one or two buses away. Advice:reach out to him for transfers. You get a better price than taxis.
