We had a wonderful stay in one of the beautiful 19th century houses. The units are perfectly equipped. The owner is extremely kind and happily shares her great knowledge about the flora and fauna in the region. The breakfast which was served on the patio by the swimming pool overlooking the farm was formidable. We will certainly come back to this truly special place!

The Retreat at Groenfontein is located on a gravel road, 20 km north-east of Calitzdorp. Free WiFi access is available. Each accommodation will provide you with a private bathroom.

Fantastic place that makes you feel that you have travelled back in time. The hosts are wonderful and the dinner concept (everyone eats at the same table) felt strange at the beginning, but turned out to be a lovely experience. The food was great, we were travelling with a picky toddler and he didn’t leave hungry. We’ve stayed for 2 nights and felt like it was too short.

Situated on the oldest working Ostrich farm in the Cape Colony, Rietfontein Ostrich Palace was established in 1897. It features private ostrich tours, a curio shop and outdoor swimming pool.

What a beautiful beautiful place! In the middle of a stunning landscape, in a very nicely done room with all the luxury you need, warm welcoming hosts and absolutely excellent food - we felt this must be what it is like in paradise. One of the most special places I have stayed at in my life. Stay for more than just a night to really catch your breath and relax, because this is the feeling this place gives you right away. If we are ever lucky enough to come back, we would stay for several nights and explore the surrounding areas and its beatiful scenic drives day by day, go for hikes in the morning and cool off at the pool in the afternoon.

Gasteria Grange cottage is centrally located, so that Calitzdorp center and also the wineries are in easy walking distance. The lovely owner are living on the same ground and are a good source for ideas how to spend the day. The self-catering cottage has one huge room and an en-suite bath room with a nice huge shower. It is fully equipped, the beds are comfy and there is also a safe parking available. A big plus is the airy, roofed terrace, which can comfortably be used even on hot Karoo days. We can highly recommend staying there!!
