A big thumbs up to this nice place. For us it was the most luxurious place we have been on our trip - because normally we keep it really simple. :) We were impressed about the location - peaceful, silent and very heartwarming. If you want to relax, Shanuo Beach Bungalow is the best option. Nice and clean garden and the best was the wooden platform with the sun loungers and of course the view all over the sea and the white sand. :) We also rented bikes for two days to explore the surrounding. Another thumb for the staff. There are no words that can describe their kindness! Thank you for making our stay so special.

What can I say, during our 3 weeks in Tansania this must have been the best place we have stayed at! The owner Anna and Ibra took so much care of the details, just great. The whole complex was renewed last year, so the bungalows and the pool area are basically brand new and in very good shape. You have a breathtaking view on the ocean from anywhere (pool, hammocks etc.), a perfect spot to relax. During low tide it is possible to swim to a sand bank directly in front of the hotel which brings out the great colors of the ocean even more. Be aware though that it's not a good spot to swim due to many rocks in the water, but that is typical for the east coast of Zanzibar. Also Paje is too far to walk (about 1 hour one way) which we were aware of before booking, so that did not bother us. I also want to mention the incredibly nice staff! Very helpful, friendly and always with a smile on their faces, we felt like home from the first second! All in all a definitive recommendation, we will be back!

Wonderful hotel with superb facilities in beautiful surroundings. Feels like a resort but is small and intimate. Great food - especially the swahili buffet - and high quality on all areas. Loved the afternoon tea/coffee and how they served dinner in different areas every night.

Exceptional place to stay. The facilities - swimming pool, bar and restaurant were all first class. Food was delicious. Best of all was the wonderful welcome and hospitality shown by the fantastic owners Petra and Thomas. They went way beyond what one could expect to make sure my stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Highly recommended

What a wonderful place, the name Karibu Paradeizi fits very well! The garden is very spacious yet it feels very cozy just to rest in one of the many hammocks under a palmtree. Everything is so well arranged,. It 's a place you don't want to leave once you are here. I am loving it 😍

As the name says, it a real Nature's Retreat.. Beach is few min away but it's all private.. Probably you will have all the kilometres stretch of beach only for you.. Cleanliness is pretty notable, the staff is pretty hard working. Manager Martina and her assistant Sicilia are pretty good.

The staff is beyond friendly and helpful. The room was great, bed was very comfy and a big bathroom with great shower and buthtub. The hotel is very private and there are many great places to sunbath and relax. Breakfast is served on your balcony, which makes it also very private. Wide range of possibilites to chose from. Dinner is served wherever one wants it. Overall great food. The beach is clean, one can snorkel (best at low tide) and go to the sandbank just in front of the hotel. Overall we had an outstanding stay and totally recommend staying at Matlai.

    Breakfast was great, fresh fruits, fresh drinks pressed from local fruits. Since the lodge i a cca. 300 meters away from the beach, no party noice. Very quite in the afternoon except bird singing. We had a rental car and a parking lot was avaiable all the time. Staff amazing, reading your wishes before you can tell them.
