As we pulled up the drive, our host Phillip greeted us and showed us around this warm and comfortable lodge decorated in beautiful, hand crafted woodwork. Our room was spacious and comfy; the bathroom was modern with a huge walk-in shower and a large soaking tub. We had the option of having dinner served by our hosts Phillip and Daphne, and it was very tasty and filling.Then we nestled in the living room, in front of a warm stove fire and enjoyed a glass of wine, while listening to the birds singing outside. In the morning we feasted on eggs, bacon, fresh fruit and homemade scones. Yum! After breakfast, there was time for a lovely walk down the garden path that leads to a gazebo overlooking the river. A perfect end to our stay.

Really nice place, I recommend ! As a chef the kitchen was perfect, everything you need to cook + breakfast included with everything as well. The bedroom and bathroom are really clean as the rest of the house is The 2 people taking care of that place are really nice Bonus : there’s a LOT of good movies if you like cinema you’ll be happy :)

It was just lovely, I enjoyed sitting out by the fish pond in the evening, very quiet and secluded, very relaxing.

We booked this very last minute, to break up our journey from Kaiteri down to Christchurch as we were also spending the next day in Hanmer. We were welcomed and greeted very warmly and directed to our really clean comfortable and spacious family suite. The whole site is very well kept, quiet and set in a beautiful location with animals and birds all around. Playground for the children. Takeaways down the road for dinner. A great spot for a stopover or if you have time, to spend a couple of nights to add in spending a day in Murchison to add in some of the touristy things to do in the area. :)

love the cosy place with nature around it. there is food and drinks right at the motel, no need to travel. Read review that food is expensive but I think it is reasonable given the convenience! Kim and John are so nice and chatty. The only regret I have is I only stayed one night! should have been a couple of days!
