We chose Meena Amma's Tea Experience because we wanted to have a closer and more genuine experience with locals, and because we wanted an accommodation close to the hiking trails of the Hortons Plains. Meena was such an amazing host. She took care of us in the best way possible. She walked with us to show us the surroundings, explained to us useful tips on Sri Lankan cuisine, and cooked for us the best and most authentic meals we had in Sri Lanka. Although, we thought that her cooking was amazing, it was a little bit salty for our taste buds. The room was nicely decorated and has the convenience of a nearly a 5* standard. Highly recommended accommodation in a strategic location close to Nuwara Eliya and Horton Plains. Just beware of the entrance road to the village is not asphalted!

It's a little far off Nuwara Eliya, so if you're looking for a calm, quiet place where you can see the mountains while having a cup of tea, that's the right place. Chaminda was super friendly and always helpful. We had a very good time.

We had a wonderful two-day stay at Hill Safari in Ohiya. The view from the balcony was incredible, and I could have spent all day there. However, many hiking trails start from the hotel, like the Devil's Staircase, which shouldn't be missed. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with planning our treks. The food at the restaurant was very good, but you need to inform them in advance if you plan to dine in. Nights are quite chilly for Sri Lanka, and while there’s no heating, the blanket provided was sufficient. It's wise to bring something warm. The hotel is very close to Horton Plains, making it a great base for the park, though I personally preferred all the trails near the hotel.

That’s the best hostel we stayed in Sri Lanka 😊 They organised us a tuk tuk to go to Horton plains for a very reasonable price and you can also eat in the hostel, they serve a big buffet that it’s impossible to finish. The terrace is a nice place to chill and there is birds, lizards and monkeys around. They also very nice family with a friendly dog.

Ae loved our stay at this villa. The hosts have paid a lot of attention to detail to ensure that guests in the property are treated extremely well and experience a little piece of luxury. We were warmly met by Amal, who couldn’t wait to show us around the beautiful villa. The bathroom was a treat! It was great to have a bath with the views of the tea plantation. The same view can be experienced from the balcony which was a nice relaxing spot to watch the world go by. The views were beautiful. The beds were large and the linen was a high quality. The property has everything you need for self-catering purposes. The warm welcome by all at the property is something that will live in my memory for a long time. I would highly recommend this villa to anyone. Only two of us stayed but it would be perfect for a family. We only wish we could have stayed longer.
