Exceptional site. The hotel, a hanok, is in a pieceful and beautiful environment. The staff is extremely helpful, the host is a very elegant person and passionnate about the hotel, the korean history. There is a welcome tea which is highly appreciated, and the opportunity to have a dinner according to old recipies ( mode than 500 years) that have been modernized by the chef chose family did write the cool book. It's a pretty hanok, with lots of daylight and plenty of space, and such a lovely courtyard garden in front. The hosts were very nice, and let us drop our bags early and leave them for an hour after checkout, and also gave us a map and guide to the mask festival, which was really helpful. It is private and peaceful and quiet, and we had a very pleasant stay here.

Sleeping at Chunghyo residence is an historical travel back hundreds years ago. The place is so authentic! The host is very nice, welcoming us with tea and home made pastry. There were bottles of water, coffee and tea in our room. Breakfast was simply exceptional. Host was really kind and also offered us to visit the book relique museum next to Chunghyo. Sleeping inside the village enables to visit it before the tourist crowds are coming (9am to 5pm). Acess by car to the Hahoe village is possible only between 5h30 pm and 9 am. Really worth!

We had a great time in Taehwa House! We came to Andong to visit Hahoe Folk Village, but weren't very lucky with the weather. So it was particularly delightful to find refuge in this nicely decorated and elegantly refurbished hanok. The owner was very friendly, welcoming and warm and swiftly answered all our questions. She even left some lovely gifts for us. We were so wet and cold when we arrived, that we just decided to stay in for the rest of the evening and enjoy the stay in the hanok. We would have loved to stay for a bit longer, but unfortunately time is always too short. Thank you vary much for a great stay in Andong!

This brand new hotel ticked all the boxes! Excellent location in a newly developing area. Lots of eateries nearby; a jogging trail around the lake at the back of the property; walking trails in local parks across the road, and all just 5km away from historic Hahoe Village. Our room overlooked what will soon be another major development, but is currently just an empty section (I would recommend requesting a room at the back overlooking the lake). Everything in the room was wonderful - morning sun; double glazing (so absolutely no road noise); great shower; wonderful toiletries (shampoo/conditioner/body wash); a mini fridge; daily cleaning; comfie bed; lots of charging points and plugs. The breakfast buffet is the best we have had yet on our trip, and definitely recommended, with both western food (hash browns, bacon, pastries, coffee), along with multiple Korean dishes. We used the gym for a back/biceps weight session, and while the equipment is a little limited, there is still enough for a good workout (a full dumbell set up to 20kg, abductor/adductor machine, hyper-extension machine, Smith rack, and two incline benches). This is the second Stanford hotel we have stayed at on our tour of the country, and they are all obviously top notch!!!

The hotel is in a great location close to the center and market. It has free parking that was extremely convenient. The person who received us in the reception had a very good level of English but the one who stayed there at night didn't. The bed mattress was hard - we loved it but I am aware not everyone may like it. The hotel gives a good value for the money - is clean and have big rooms but don't expect luxury

Free parking lot, which sadly was really crowded in the evenings. It was right in the middle of Andong and near the market and sightseeing spots.
