Very nice traditional Japanese house, yet still very comfortable for modern lifestyle. Every window has a mosquito net, so you're protected in the night from anything out there. The locations is just next to the Onsen, but it's still super calm. The owner is very nice, helpful and thoughtful and overall offers superb hospitality. We 100 percent recommend this place!

I was hesitant to book this resort initially as there was only 1 recent review when I booked, and the older reviews of the original hotel were not that good. However, I decided to take a chance and I'm so glad I did!!! The resort is newly renovated and all the furnishings and decor are all very clean and new. The resort location was ideal as I wanted to be located near Mifuneyama Rakuen so I could go see the Autumn colours at night (only 6 min drive away). The facilities on the resort were fantastic.... the spa pool required swimsuits which the resort thoughtfully prepared for each guest, all packed in individual tote bags. The hot spring pool was a a bit small, but the resort was not packed when we stayed, so there were no other people around when we used the spa pool or hot spring. But what impressed me the most has to be the amazing service we received. Most of the staff did not speak English or could only speak minimal English, but they always tried their best to understand our needs, and made us feel so comfortable. The staff's dedication and service quality are top-notch. The food was so amazing as well (The sukiyaki dinner and Japanese breakfast included in the stay were so good!)

I couldn't find a hotel room for the night, and feel blessed and lucky to have found Kyotoya. It is set in a great area close to the station, Takeo Onsen and not far from all the sights. On entering you will find a beautiful lobby full of antique furniture and a great area to have tea and coffee and enjoy the atmosphere. The traditional tatami room was wonderful, the futon and pillow comfortable, and of course there is the onsen on the second floor to relax and refresh yourself on your travels. I loved the place and would absolutely book again. The staff were helpful and friendly and very patient with my poor level of Japanese. Don't hesitate to stay here if your looking for a much more special experience than your regular hotels within the same price range.

Authentic, tucked away, serene, luxe. I am so so sad I only booked one night. This is a place that deserves to be booked out- highly recommend.

Room was cleaned to perfection! Room was also bigger than photos on website. Highly recommend this venue for families. It was easy for us to wash and dry out clothes, great for when traveling.

Amazing location, 2' from the station, 5' from "brewery street", 10' from convenient store. Friendly and helpful staff, he gave me some area must sees. I was travelling with a bike, they were so nice about it and made so easy, which I was so grateful for. The dormitory was very comfortable and clean. The shared bathroom/toilet were kept super clean and tidy. The common space was very friendly and tidy, with a shared all amenities kitchen. It felt very at home! It's a very cute and homey vibe guesthouse! The area has a lot to offer too, would highly recommend staying there!
