Amazing atmosphere, super clean and spacious rooms. We learned a lot about Buddhism and the chief monk Ken and his family were so very nice and welcoming. They explained a lot about history, Buddhism and gave us great recommendations about walking around - definitely the highlight of our trip in Japan so far! Food was super authentic too. An advice - take a taxi from the station, it’s not expensive and the road is super steep. Also go to the morning prayer.

The house was spotlessly clean and the location was simply perfect. We stayed in a traditional Japanese style room with futon bedding, which was both comfortable and cozy it gave us the feeling of experiencing Japan like the locals do. The host was incredibly attentive throughout our stay, always making sure we had everything we needed. He even went out of his way to pick us up from Shin-Fuji Station and kindly drove us back when we checked out. Although the house has an amazing view of Mount Fuji, unfortunately the mountain was hidden by clouds during our visit. Still, the setting was so peaceful and beautiful that we didn’t feel we missed out. We rented bicycles and cycled to the Shiraito Falls, which was absolutely breathtaking. If you enjoy nature and want to spend some quiet time away from the crowds, I highly recommend renting a bike and exploring the area it was one of the highlights of our trip.

Due to an error in Google Maps' vehicle information, we found out there were no cars available to return to the hotel. We faced a 3-hour walk from Asama Shrine to Shiraito Park, mostly uphill with barely any streetlights. Just when we were on the verge of breaking down and feeling helpless, the host kindly drove to pick us up and brought us back to the hotel. Without her help, we would’ve had to walk the entire way 😭😭😭. On top of that, the hotel’s environment is fantastic—stepping out the door, you’re greeted by a lovely garden, and just a few steps away is the stunning Shiraito Waterfall. It’s absolutely worth the long journey!

The free meal was wonderful and was just what we needed after a big day of travel and before an even bigger one the next day. Our later arrival was graciously accommodated for and the hosts were so lovely to chat to and went above and beyond to make sure our night (and the night of the other guests) was what we were looking for.

Itaru san was very nice bringing us to a nearby onsen and his food was amazing! The surrounding area is very peaceful and quiet. We were lucky to be able to see fujisan clearly! He also took us to a nearby Cafe which was beautiful. He took us to the station after as well, he is an amazing hardworking guy that shared hie story with us. This has been the most authentic Japanese experience we've had while being in Japan. Thank you Itaru San, we will come again.
