Chubi Sponbo is a great and relaxing guesthouse to spend you days in Leh. It's comfortable, clean, the breakfast is good and there's an inner garden where you can rest and acclimatise :). It's family run and they are very nice and helpful. I would definitely go back there while visiting Leh!

I have travelled all over the world, visited many many cities and stayed in all kinds of hotels. Generally I don't write reviews for hotels as I find them mostly fine, though nothing extraordinary to write about. However, I feel compelled to write a review for Rock Castle Residency of Leh due to the exceptional hospitality of the hosts. The room we got was fine - spacious, clean, and with a large comfortable bed. The balcony of the room had a superb view of the neighbouring hill and of the mountains further away. The guest house had a cute dining hall where the chef's dishes are very much like home cooked food - simple, fresh, tasty. But what delighted us most about the place were the gracious, warmhearted and helpful hosts. Family run and managed by individuals including Rigzin, Nordom and Prince, we felt absolutely at home during our stay. In fact, we had issues with acclimatizing for 3 days, and I had to take oxygen support during the nights. Rigzin and team helped us with everything, and without any hesitation accomodated our requests for extending our stay in Leh and then also cancelling the remaining stay without penalties when we decided to bail out and return to Delhi. They fed us delicious meals made from vegetables grown in their own garden, and even brought tea and meals to our room (against their house policy) when I was not feeling well. We weren't able to explore Ladakh fully this time, but if I ever come back to Leh I would most definitely stay at Rock Castle Residency only.

In October, I had the pleasure of staying at Raku Guest House and I cannot express enough how exceptional my experience was. From the moment I arrived, the warmth and hospitality extended by the family who runs the lodge were truly remarkable. The family welcomed me into their home with open arms, creating an atmosphere that felt more like visiting old friends rather than staying at a guest lodge. Their genuine care and attention to detail made my stay memorable and exceeded all expectations. One of the standout features was the delicious home-cooked breakfast prepared by the family. The organically-grown apples from their garden were delicious and that added a unique and delightful dimension to my stay. Beyond the comfortable accommodation and picturesque surroundings, what truly set this homestay apart was the family's willingness to go above and beyond to ensure guests felt like a part of their extended family. Whether it was offering local insights, organizing cultural experiences, or simply engaging in heartwarming conversations, their genuine enthusiasm for hosting made every moment special. For hiking enthusiasts, I embarked on the Markha Valley trek, and they arranged for a local guide while also offering transportation to and from the trailhead. Incredibly kind and friendly staff, specially at the reception desk. Every detail is taken care of, from the welcome tea and cookies, to the temperature of the rooms, the amazing breakfast with all you can hope for, the interior design and decorations to the restaurant and everything else in between.
