Fantastic villa, only 4 villas very spacious clean and Private, the staff are amazing and really take an interest in looking after you. Food was very good with good variety. We will be back with a few more friends and family. Someone commented about the road in, and how bad it was, it’s actually not to bad as far as Sumba goes, we hired a scooter from the Villas and really explored the area. We would have stayed loner but unfortunately they were booked out. 5 nights was not long enough.

Staying at The Rua Room in Umarato Villa was an experience straight out of a dream. The moment I stepped onto the balcony, I was greeted by a breathtaking ocean view that stretched as far as the eye could see. The sound of waves crashing against the shore created the perfect soundtrack to accompany the stunning vista. But the real gem of this room was the outdoor bathtub nestled amidst the natural beauty of the surroundings. Immersing myself in warm water while surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sounds of nature was an experience like no other. It was a moment of pure serenity and relaxation, allowing me to unwind and truly connect with the environment. The attention to detail in The Rua Room was impeccable, from the luxurious furnishings to the thoughtful amenities provided. Every aspect of my stay was carefully curated to ensure maximum comfort and enjoyment.

What we really liked is the hospitality in this resort. Ben helped us a lot with looking for nice locations to go to. The food was also really good. The owner is Italian so the pasta is on point. The room was clean with an excellent working AC (pretty special when in Indonesia if you ask me). The shower pressure and temperature were also perfect. Thank you and we hope to see you again!

Antonio and the staff go above and beyond to help you with airport-pickups, motorbike rental, day trip-planning and make sure they have amazing food for dinner and breakfast. The hotel is beautifully designed and in a beautiful area very close to some picturesque beaches. The staff are very friendly and attentive and make it easy to organise trips and activities so you can experience Sumba. Surf lessons are a lot of fun and the village tour and waterfall tour are both great. Cocktails were really good, as was the food at breakfast. The hotel seems to have a good relationship with the local people and seems to have genuinely benefitted Sumba.
