I loved the location of the property about 10/ 20 minutes drive from most of the historic sites we wanted to see. The house is about 10 minutes drive outside Stromness in a very quiet location, by a quiet roadside. The owner Simon was so friendly and couldn't have been more helpful and he responded to our requests for information immediately. The house has everything you need and was comfortable, warm and spotless and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the property. Love Orkney and thank you Simon for all the info and suggestions for spectacular walks, we even saw puffins at Brough of Birsay and enjoyed a delicious lunch in the Standing Stones Hotel listening to the Birsay boys play in the folk festival! Hope to return one day to explore the islands further.

Stromness itself felt like a beautifully preserved jar of history and the Stromness Hotel was a perfectly fitting piece within it. We arrived quite late, but the staff went above and beyond to ensure a smooth check-in for us. The rooms, though simple, were cozy and well-appointed.

Beautiful property with very new, clean, modern facilities. Breakfast was excellent with porridge included in the continental includes breakfast. Hosts really friendly and helpful .

A wonderful destination for your time in Kirkwall. We explored the island for 3 days an spent two nights in the royal,oak guesthouse. Everything was prepared in a perfect way, a nice and new build room with all details for a comfortable stay, nearby to the city and in walking distance to Highland Park destillery. we enjoyed the light options for the night and the bathroom, this is as you like it at home. a nice breakfast, fresh fruit, tea and coffee as we prefer it, we enjoyed our whole stay very much, Thank you

This trip involves alot of moving each day to a new place. When we arrived here, alone with the view, the sheep, the loch and the windmills, we wished we had just spent a week at the Rymmon. Absolutely everything. The hosts were amazing. The location was stunning and still convenient. Breakfast was superb and both Chris and Stephan were so welcoming, accommodating and friendly.

Outstanding staff. Spacious, clean and comfortable room. Excellent location near bus station and centre of town. Hot cocoa mix along with tea and coffee in the room. Plenty of bath towels. Comfy chairs in room.
