    The location is fab the hotel is situated in a lovely small village and is close to the motorway so ideal for a stop over. The bar area is lovely in an old fashioned way. Breakfast is very good with an excellent choice of cooked food. The staff were very nice and the beds extremely comfortable . The hotel is very dog friendly and has on site free parking. Robes and courtesy water and biscuits left in the room with a good tea coffee, making facilities and a coffee machine with pods.

    A lovely market town establishment with loads of character. Dog friendly. They even provide treats. I’ve stayed there twice and both times found the room remarkably spacious, well appointed. Coffee machine with selection of pods. Biscuits, bottled water. Lashings of hot water. I ran a bath in two minutes. Excellent plumbing. Comfy beds with quality linen. Food was excellent with a varied menu. Not the usual predictable pub food. Presented with flair. Free secure parking onsite.

    Sadly only one night stay, but everything was excellent - from car parking, reception - including early check in and very generous room upgrade and exceptional breakfast. Very friendly and efficient staff throughout the hotel.

    Our room at the ground floor had direct access to the parking lot, what I really appriciated. Our son was located on the first floor, so not directly near us. Dinner and breakfast were good. All in all it was a perfect stopover on our way to our holiday in Scotland.

    Traditonal pub hotel with restaurant. I stayed in the annex in a double room with outdoor area. The room was okay but would benefit from a refresh. Free parking is a bonus. Staff welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was delicious.
