Kinugawa Onsen, Nikko
Located in Nikko, 18 km from Tobu Nikko Station, K's House Nikko - Kinugawa Onsen Hostel provides accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking and a terrace. The property is set 19 km from Nikko Station, 22 km from Nikko Toshogu Shrine and 38 km from Kegon Falls. The hostel features a hot spring bath, a shared kitchen and free WiFi throughout the property. K's House Nikko was the perfect, peaceful breath of fresh air I needed after a frenetic trip around some of Japan's bigger centers. It is newly refurbished from what looks like a fancy hotel, with the rooms looking out into a wooded valley and river below. It has a MASSIVE lounge area, which the sunshine streams into during the day, and it's a great place to chill and get some work done or meet some of the other guests. After staying in so many tiny rooms around Japan, it was so refreshing to have so much space at K's house. The onsen is free to use, and the outdoor pool also overlooks the forest. Every time, I had the onsen all to myself. Finally the staff, particularly Chiyo were awesome - always up to provide great travel and hiking advice, or generally discuss Japanese history and culture. I will definitely be back!

Everything was perfect. Great location close to the station and alot of shops nearby. Room was big and spacious. Very clean. Comfortable futon beds. The natural hotspring onsen was very clean and so relaxing especially the open Air bath. This is a really nice Ryokan perfect for relaxing and soaking in onsen. Breakfast and dinner was plentiful and well presented.
The location of the property is amazing! 😍 in the middle of the nature :) the hot spring onsen are super nice! There are also mixed bathes where woman and man can go inside together :) the staff was super friendly! The food was good, too.
Decent accommodation in traditional Japanese ryokan style. Four private onsens, two indoor and two outdoor that are across the road and up the street. Outdoor onsens were very nice, and it was pretty relaxed to get a time slot to use it. The owner also let us store our luggage there for a few hours after we checked out while we visited Lake Ashi. Great little restaurant across the street that was very affordable. Around 1000y pp.
Absolutely incredible staff from the moment of arrival to the moment of departure. In particular, Yuuta was so helpful, attentive, and downright elegant. An EXCEPTIONAL breakfast and dinner were included with our room, prepared as Japanese interpretation of multi-course French cuisine. The view from the dining area was stunning. Absolutely wonderful. I believe all rooms include a private outdoor onsen (hot spring bath) where you can soak for hours while enjoying nature.
The Japanese style room was totally beyond our expectation. The room is very clean, bed is comfortable and warm, bathroom has everything we'd need. In the room, it also provides full bottle of water in the water boiler, along with a full tea set! The in-room dinner and breakfast is a completely blow-away experience! The in-room onsen also provides the convenience to my daughter to enjoy the hot spring without going to the public area.
The private onsen in our room was amazing. Soaking in the hot spring water overlooking the zen garden was lovely.
Beautiful Japanese ryokan in a magical setting. The multi-course kaseiki dinner and traditional breakfast were superb, with all the dishes impeccably presented and absolutely delicious. Our lovely hostess, Kyoko, graciously served us and patiently explained every dish using goggle translate. The onsens had great district views and we emerged from the hot spring water feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. We would love to come back here again!
The place is best to experience the Japanese hot springs without feeling crowded. The staff was really kind and treated us like their friends/family. The shared hotspring area is really clean and spacious. The private hot spring was my fav. part.
Nice location away from busy cities. Like an adventure. Hiking options. Nice variety of hot springs. But the outdoor onsen for men only should be reopened as soon as possible
