My gf and I have stayed at The Bear on multiple occasions to visit her family and each time we are blown away at how incredibly friendly and helpful the staff is to us. They go out of their way to make your stay great and have always helped us keep luggage there safely as we travelled to other parts of Taiwan. Invaluable to us so that we can go to other areas without having to take massive amounts of luggage with total peace of mind that all is 100% safely looked after. The most cozy hotel I've ever been to. The staff is amazing, and having your private hot springs in a room is the best thing you can have here. If your budget allows - don't think twice!

I really loved it’s location - walkable from the station but far enough that it was a quiet place of it’s own. The museum and beautiful public library was also very close by. The private onsen here was fantastic - we seldom saw other folks around and had it all to ourselves. The bed was also SO comfortable. It’s my first time here, but I’ll be sure to return here in my next trip.

The dinner was cooked to perfection. Every dish was delicious. Nice ambience in dining room and the entire hotel. Loved the free air hockey and foosball table. Loved the private hot spring bath in the room so don’t have use public one! Surprised snacks and drinks in room were free, a bonus :) Tea was very nice. Very convenient shuttle buses and polite, kind drivers.

The hot spring pools were fantastic! With temperatures showing, cold stones, pools with water jets, it was fun to try out different pools. Shuttle buses to Beitou and Xinbeitou MRT stations provided the convenience.
